  • How does it benefit kids in China to learn English? The appeal doesn't explain. ("Change one person's world" is way too abstract.)

So the reader is left with the question, why should I give?

Personalize the situation for the reader. A real-live story about how a child in China suffered because he didn't know English would be good. Necessary even.

Also, the letter is way too much about you. Or TMI as my pappy used to say.

That 10-day trip to Mexico with your friends... party time, right? All those locations... who cares?

Your letter does nothing to stoke the reader's altruism emotion. It comes across as being all about you.

Find a proven swipe in the "donation" niche and model your appeal after it.
