URGENT: Still not making any money... what am I not doing correctly?

Hi,

I've been 'doing' Internet marketing for a while now but still not getting anywhere. Here are the blogs and websites that I've created so far for your evaluation.

How to Increase Height | How to grow taller FAST

Internet Business

If you guys can tell me how to start monetising these or what radical changes I need to make then it will be much appreciated, and you will be life savers. I seriously need to start create an extra income source whilst I am looking for a decent paying job and being a student. I also, obviously, desire a much higher quality of life and this (along with trading, which I don't have $100k account to start with, in order to make a decent income) is the only way that I know of, and that I am relatively skilled at and enjoy.

I realise now that the material is not great and there is a massive room for improvement, so this is also why I am desperately asking this question.

Thanks everybody, and best of luck to all fellow marketers!

    Hey,

First off, don't give up. Blogging is a long term strategy. Are you generating leads? Are you building an audience? Are you just blogging or dove-tailing in to other forms of social media?

There are a ton of ways to monetize your site, but you need to have traffic and an audience otherwise you're talking to no-one.

What happens when someone opts in to your list? What do they get? Are you selling anything?

It's a bit difficult to give advice as I'm not sure what you are and aren't doing, but happy to offer any help I can.

What exactly have you been doing? There's a whole LOT in IM, you know.

Affiliate marketing - your own products - AdSense - direct advertising - CPA - the list goes on.

For the WantToBeTaller, I'm thinking AdSense. I'm not so sure there's a guide to becoming taller - is there?

Until you know what you're doing in IM, don't touch the other thing. My advice.

OR RATHER - document your journey in IM from newbie to full-timer. That's something people want to read about - not Ad Hit Profits. Please

You trade - what, exactly? Foreign wares? Good idea doing something you enjoy.

You're right. It's not great. There's massive room for improvement.

    But we're here to help.

    What I recommend:

    1. Spend another month reading everything related to IM on the WF.
    2. TRY out everything you've learned over that one month period.
    3. Once you have the hang of things go large and scale up your business.
    4. Eat cheese doodles.

The trickiest thing is to know how to generate income in IM. And you never learn how to do this when you are desperate.

You definitely need a completely new approach. Consider being coached by people who have succeeded.

You can start small, though, with adsense, affiliate marketing, and article writing for a fee.

Just be persistent, I feel you'll get your own breakthrough. You however need to change your reasons for doing IM.

    Just two things to say.

Firstly, both sites are not exactly in obscure and unsaturated niches which won't help a newbie just starting out.

Secondly, I got a malware warning from chrome when clicking on the second site.

You have to work on content part, I see your sites have little content, you have to post content on regular based with good on-page optimization, the keywords you will be targeted should be less competitive so you need to research keywords first.

Looks like you have decent niche with the grow taller theme and a decent domain name. Focus on finding the best keywords. You should have already done this. Build blog posts around these keywords and do it often. You need to build some authority. I would assume you are selling Amazon, which might not be the best for this niche. I would definitely write or outsource an e-book to sell on your site. It not that difficult. Sure you could sell clickbank, but why not put YOUR OWN product on clickbank and have people sell for you.

Definitely capture emails but dont spam them. Here's a quick idea, sell "special height boosting shoes". Find some cheap, resell yourself for more profit. Sell those on Amazon. Get out of being an affiliate for Amazon unless you can generate a bunch of highly targeted buying traffic and even then why not your own stuff. Get on related forums and give advice, not spam. Initiate a good backlinking strategy and stick with it. Position yourself as a height buildin authority. For more traffic you should buy banner space on a HIGH traffic blog, ezine or whatever that is related to topic, but do your research first and test. Rank highly for your buying keywords and traffic will come as well.

These are just some quick ideas to get you on the right path. Follow them (and many more) and you will make money. Be prepared for it to take up to 1 year and dont give up as mentioned above. Few more tips:

Ditch blogger as main website, but use as traffic source.
Get out of selling the "Im niche", at least at first.
Share your info, dont peddle it.

Hope this helps some. The above info would have cut 6 months off my learning curve and I am still learning! Never stop learning.

For what its worth, as others have said, you need to be persistent and consistent. Marketing online, takes time, certainly a good few months, to maybe a year of being consistent with what you are doing.

Copywriting is the key to marketing online, without any question. That said, you also need to write for a niche you know about, but write good quality content, that provides value and a solutions to other peoples pain essentially. Sure enough anyone can write content, but does it attract? ~ Good, quality content does, there is no question about it.

You also need to work out where you want to promote ( the sites relative to your niche and be consistent in your posting of content as well.

    Hope this helps

    Step 1: Don't start with a product.

Step 2: Find an audience with an urgent problem to solve.

Step 3: Find a product that solves their problem.

Step 4: Market the problem solver product to the audience with an urgent problem.

    Step 5: Make money.

    You've...

    1. Came up with a product.

    2. Don't have a mass audience with an urgent problem.

    3. Don't have a product that solves any problem.

This is just a thought but on the grow taller website I have no incentive to sign up whatsoever. I am not the tallest guy in the world. I'm 5'7" but I would be awfully tempted to sign up if you repackaged an article about how to dress myself so that I appear to be taller and offered it as a free report packed with insightful advice. I would also add that I couldn't find the form for signing up at first. I thought you didn't even have one until I checked a second time because other elements on the page distracted me from my search. I would definitely make that a far more prominent part of your website.

Your site looks very poor, of course my observations are only as a "potential" customer.

Concept looks good, tho needs to maybe work on a little bit more, - particularly the site design adn the graphics etc. etc. BEST OF LUCK!

    Just my two cents

IMO, the question isn't why you're NOT making money, it's "why are you expecting to make money with these sites?"

I don't mean to sound overly critical, but nothing about your first site suggests to me that you put a very big amount of effort into it.

    1. The copy is uninspired and cliché.

"Looking to grow taller? you're in the right place."

"Once you have started using the basic techniques on this website and would like to go on to the next level then I recommend that you wisely invest in the Grow Taller 4 Idiots course program which will reveal more techniques and create a structure for further gains."

This all just sounds like such an obvious sales pitch. You need to understand that selling self help products is *not* like selling vacuum cleaners or television sets. When you're selling something like a vacuum cleaner (just as a random example), you can be obviously sales-pitchy because most of the prospective customers ARE looking for a vacuum cleaner and are fully expecting to get sold to. But when you're selling self development products, you are by and large trying to convert a bunch of visitors who are only looking for information and aren't really interested in parting with their money. You should build huge amounts of interest and value before you ever mention selling them a course, even if the price isn't crazy high.

    2. You're trying to build a list but you aren't offering any free value?

Where's the free report or coaching session? Your current opt in form just says "sign up to receive updates." What's that supposed to do for the reader? If they like your site, they can bookmark it to keep reading new content as you publish it. I can tell you with complete certainty that I've never opted in to anything just to get free updates, and I don't see why anyone else would either.

    3. What's with all the posts about "heightism"?

Most short guys don't feel like victims of society or anything like that, they just want a quick solution to their problem. It is possible to use your readers' fears of being discriminated against in order to make them want to get taller even more, but so many of your posts seem to address the "heightism" thing as an issue in its own right. It's just taking you off the course you should want to be on.

    4. The affiliate offer you're promoting doesn't even seem to be that well done.

Granted, the "get taller" niche seems like it would be a popular one. We ARE living in a society where many men are insecure about their height. But that's about all I can say in favor of this GrowTaller4Idiots.com site. It just looks like such a generic, typical Clickbank sales page. There are no videos on it. In spite of the use of a background story, there is no sense of identity or familiarity with the creator of the site (there's not even a picture of his face!) The writing is not bad, but it's not especially good, either. It's just an entirely mediocre Clickbank sales page. I think you could make it work if your own affiliate site was really well done, but your own site ain't exactly a marketing powerhouse.

    5. Your second site doesn't even work for me.

No joke, dude. I got a message saying that you need to be an author to see the site. Somebody else in this threat, I think, mentioned that they got a spam notice. So... yea brah, gotta keep on top of that.

Overall, my advice for you is to read and study more top marketers' sites. You need to get a feel for how they do things to make their copy and their websites seem fascinating and unique. In marketing literally the worst thing you can be is the same as everybody else (after all, getting attention is about standing out), and right now your site just looks too generic to have a fighting chance.

Sorry for this brutal reply... but there's no way on God's earth that anyone will believe you can grow taller by reading and e-book and doing a few exercises.

Get the hell out of this niche before you waste even more time and money.

It's lose...lose...and lose even more proposition.

Someone called it "bro science" which I found amusing. Unfortunately it also seems to describe the product very well. People believe all sorts of nonsense, so why not your bones getting longer by reading a miraculous ebook... The name "Grow Taller 4 Idiots" seems like a direct insult, tho.

As others have said, the other link doesn't work. Currently takes to Blogger's page that says something about a TOS violation.
