I have a report idea that my customers would GREATLY benefit from. It's a technique which is not well known, and which would go FAR in helping them solve the specific problem.

It's shared among all the people that my target market want to become, but yet they are oblivious to what it is.

I'm having some trouble thinking of headlines for it, as I'm pretty bad at copywriting. Some ideas I have are:

- The one trick that ALL ______ do
- Discover the one technique that all ______ use
- Discover the hack that all ______ use
- Find out the one thing which is sabotaging your ______
- Learn the one technique which is shared among all the _______

Do any of you have any sample headlines which relate to "discovering a technique" that will be of tremendous value?

Cheers

    Sorry... they're all terrible.

The headline should state the result your prospects will get.

It's tough to suggest a headline without knowing the niche, the problem, or the solution.

But based on what you've told us, starting the headline with "Little Known Hack" would be good.

"Little Known Hack Slashes Your System Downtime by 90%!"

Here's an example of what I put together today.

      ------------------------------------------------------------
      Letter for Todd

      Hello Todd,

I'm putting the finishing touches to a case study
on how a [business type] manufacturer
went from 6 qualified inbound leads per month to 6
qualified inbound leads per week...without spending any more
      money on advertising.

Would you like to read it when it's finished?
      ------------------------------------------------------------

      I haven't given the report/case study a title
      as yet.

What's in it and what I say about it is more
important to me at this stage
      as I'm only judging interest.

And I haven't written the case study either
      because of the interest factor.

If there is interest, then it won't make a lot of difference to the title
because they already know what to expect.

      Best,
      Ewen

I totally agree with Alex...none of your headlines inspire anything at all.

And it is hard to come up with any idea or suggestion without knowing a bit about what the product is and what it does.

But a stab in the dark…

‘The Startling Fact That Every _______ Does To _____That You Don’t do”

“ Would You Like Me To Hand You A Little Known________ That All Your ________ Are Using Which Will Solve Your__________ In Minutes?”

I'd be honest and see what happens. Try this from your post and see what happens.

  • Tricks, secrets, tactics...

    Discover this, stop sabotaging that...

These words can help in copy.

But if you really do have something that works.

All you have to do is say it.

"This ____ is the ONE thing that works.

Or to be a little more precise.

This ____ is the ONE thing that does (bring the desired result - say what the result is).

    Steve

P.S. Then prove in the body copy beyond a shadow of doubt that it does.
