Still Only Getting 15% Opt In Rate

I suppose I should be grateful I'm getting 15% as I was only getting 5% until I took on some advice on this forum.

Thanks to all who helped me out before.

Obviously, I'm back as I'd love to double this to 30% + and basically cut my cost to achieve each sign up.

As you can see I have split the ages into early and late 40's

OptIn46-49 | Kevin Hallow and

OptEarly40 | Kevin Hallow

These opt in forms are created using a Wordpress plugin so I'm restricted to only placing text in the opaque box.

Really looking to roll this out to other demographics as soon as I can get 30% rate.

My traffic source is Facebook ads so restricted to single or unspecified only. Ie. Can't narrow it down to Separated, Divorced etc.

Any help would be much appreciated !

It's not about fantasy is it. I'm trying to promote something that is realistic and achievable. I do provide proof in the course..

If I put an image on there of a 20 year old lingerie model I'll probably step back into the unrealistic category for men my product is aimed at!

      This is proving difficult!

I quite like the image. Crop top.... naval, thumb in waist band and zip a bit undone.

It doesn't really matter if you like it though, does it? It needs to be something that gets the attention of your prospects and makes them willing to give you their info. I don't think the picture is accomplishing what you want it to.

I do realise this. However, if you make the copy difficult to believe they won't give you their details so I assumed the age group this is geared to wouldn't believe an image of a 20 year old lingerie model was achievable for them. If a 20 year old model is achievable for them then I'll be buying their course not the other way around.

I've changed the image and I'll see where it takes me.

Find an image that is not as extreme.

How about a pic of two people enjoying an activity like dinner or a concert.

First you have a pic of someone overweight and now you have a pic of someone who is not obtainable.

Put a pic the target market can relate to and backs up your promise, that the new profile will get interest.

Yeah, The image I think you saw was of a younger woman that I had laying around on my hard drive.

I now have bought two different images of more mature (still attractive) women and see how they go.

          Geaux Saints !

Hey. Just curious... how are your opt-ins backing out so far? People throw these big opt-in %'s around all the time, but the reality is 30% is very high. And the opt-in % in and of itself really means nothing. For example, there's one squeeze page specifically I can think of that ran profitably for years hovering right around 13%. And if you're gonna scale in this market, I really can't see it being a whole lot higher than that. Facebook can be tough - I'd say you're not doing too bad.

So yeah, keep testing and optimizing... but what if you were able to make it work or break even with your current opt-in %? All of a sudden you're able to invest more money into the campaign and subsequently, you're able to collect more data and accelerate the process of creating a profitable a campaign... vs. stuck on needing a certain opt-in % that you'll probably never see.

Thanks Robert, I appreciate it. I'd be interested to know what the opt in figures are in my niche. I think alot of these high % are IM and MMM where people are more inclined t o part with their email address.

It's early days but I could scale things up now. My product is selling so my autoresponder series seems to be working OK and I am actually making money.

I have hit over 100 subs today, only 2 buyers but many of the subs are new and haven't gone through my email sequence yet. Each sub is costing in the region of 45 cents which is viable.

I have every intention of putting everything I earn back into advertising to grow the list and when I master it I'll rinse and repeat (cutting out the errors I've made along the way).

I haven't got an upsell at the moment and thought I could use another vendors product on JV Zoo as an upsell but not allowed apparently. (Will be addressing this)

Looking to make a full time living out of this after 2 years and happy to invest earnings now to achieve this.

So your tips only work on Plenty of Fish? What about all the guys who are using different dating sites?

I don't think your promise of having women message you first is as strong as showing them how to get women out on dates and into bed. Show them how they can reach their end goal, not just a single step along the way.

      There's your upsell.

Take the next 2 most popular sites and develop a system for them.

Create an upsell page/email which says something along the lines of "be 3x more successful"

      Regards,

The tips will work on any site that requires a man to write a profile and upload pictures of themselves.

The thing is, The video walk through's in the course where screen captures of me doing a profile on Plenty of Fish, checking messages received etc.

I'm sending Plenty of Fish targeted traffic (through Facebook) to these specific pages. Therefore it's unlikely that any one who is not interested in POF will land on it.

Up to 20% opt in now, which is pleasing

What is the primary emotional driver for this market? I'd say getting laid right? Hard to beat that primal instinct yes? That said I find no problem with the image but rather "Why should I give you my email"?

So it's your offer or even more the positioning...

Your copy says "Download for free"... Download what? PDF? Video? Make it a PDF, that has been proven to convert better (at least within my circles) than a video.

You can still target age groups in your ads, but you don't have to call it out in the headline because they have been already targeted so reguardless of age they want some wang dang sweet... (Ted Nugent can fill in the rest).

Your English in the headline looks foreign and cheap... "Work Every Time" sounds like an Indian VA wrote it... don't forget the "s" in "Works"....

Actually I'd scrap it and start over. Write the headline specifically to appeal to what they get right now and how that will change their life, the format it comes in (PDF), etc. And remember above all else appeal to what they really want emotionally.

Man you're dealing with the most primal of markets on the desire level. You should be getting 50% minimum optins if you're targeting your ads properly.

Looks too spammy. You should eliminate hype-y filler and add details that matter.

For example, "...that Absolutely WILL Get..." - these words aren't persuading anyone, they are just filler.

On the other hand, you leave out key details. WHAT exactly are they getting? You mention tweaks... how many tweaks?

Now break up your headline visually so it's easier to read.

"In your Early 40′s?" - make that into your pre-head.

Make certain words you want to stand out a different color/font.

And yes, get rid of "Work Every Time."

Horrible. Everything about it. And why for God's sake do you break the word "foolproof" so it reads, at first glance, "discover the fool". "Work every time" needs to be written "work-every-time" (but it stinks anyway). And that cheesy "Download for FREE". Ugh.

It's way too choppy. You have very little time for your message to make it into your viewers brain on a squeeze page, so the message has to be smooth and razor sharp in order to penetrate the male ADD brain. The choppiness of your headline interrupts a fast absorption, although the beautiful woman in the background helps.

But the offer isn't compelling anyway. It's nothing special. Guys are bombarded with "foolproof" methods for getting "hot chicks" to "message them on POF." Your offer isn't unique at all. You're going to have to find a way to stand out with a more compelling hook in the sea of "pick up chicks" offers.

I like your approach of being realistic though. That's pretty refreshing for this niche. You should consider building your list from your blog in addition to a squeeze. But that will require a lot more work and creating more proof, but it will likely lead to a higher stick rate.

You can easily get a 80%+ opt-in on this kind of market generally. But if you're targeting an older generation... maybe lesser.

    (1) Never compromise the readability of your headline.

Seriously. Let's just say at 50, your eyesight starts to fail you. You look at a headline like this... Are you seriously going to read on? It screams attention and it's amateurish in that aspect.

Lose the transparency and go with a completely white background for the text placeholder. Then, use a good font colour - red has always worked in tests. Run split-tests with any other colour.

    (2) The headline is too long. You only have a few split-seconds to be sorted out into the "junk" or "worthy" pile.

    This headline, my friend...

45 to 49 and Single? Discover the Fool Proof, Work Every Time Profile Tweaks that Absolutely WILL Get Attractive Women Contacting YOU on Plenty of Fish. Download for FREE. Proof Inside
    ... is bad. Very bad.

You don't even need to call out the audience at 46-49. It doesn't even make sense. Think conversational. Are you going to call out to a friend like this?

"Hey, you 46 to 49? Do you want a fool proof, work every time profile tweaks that absolutely will get attractive women contacting YOU on plenty of fish? Download for free? Proof inside?"

Bad, bad. It's so bad you need to completely rewrite it.

For starters, you need to think of just 1 big idea. 1 big benefit.

    Maybe something like...

"The one trait attractive women crave - hit her erotic spot with this POF profile trick"

"One POF profile edit no woman can resist"

"What women are dying to see on a dating site"

or maybe even the reverse way... "5 screw-ups that turn women off in your POF profile"

Blind copy, probably won't hit. But you get the idea. Find your own, you're the one who knows your target audience best.

Don't "tell". Your words alone should have the power to make people infer what you want them to think.

If it's not a headline, don't use the same font size and text. It only screws up the whole thing because it looks messy and everything is fighting for attention. The result? It looks frigging spammy.

    (3) Good grammar isn't required for copywriting, but a certain degree of it is needed, or people can't even read on.

How confident are you about that?

Confident enough to put some skin in the game?

At one point my % were down to about 5-10%. I really wasn't getting the hang of it. But what I learned was that this type of niche/market can be really saturated. I mean I think of all the types of people who probably have the same stuff. I find that those who are unique and different from the rest of the pack are the ones who ultimately outperform everyone else. Personally, I've moved on to mobile marketing. I feel it's the next big thing and much more efficient than email. But that's just my opinion
