For those who actually like to keep tabs on blockbuster new VSLs, I came across this the other day. 50 plus minutes long, but very intriguingly stuff!

The America Parasite

Note the use of Wikipedia-like citations at the bottom of the page as a credibility booster... Interesting! From what I can tell, they are split testing 3 versions of this page testing both the citations and order button. I wonder which version will win

I think they are doing it right. I was hoping they had an affiliate program or were listed with Clickbank or the like - Can't find it though.

    Too bad.

Something about the pace is weird... I wonder how they are doing with this VSL.

PUHLEEEEEEZE!!!! The first 5 minutes of the video were militantly stoopid rabble-rousing victimology. I don't know what the rest of the video was like. If, like me, most people stopped watching after a few minutes NO AMOUNT of testing can make any sense.

Blindly assuming most people are "like you" is a big mistake.
That's why they test in the first place.

Personally, I thought the video was a good job of fear-based
marketing. And I bought the product, but I was already in the
      market for a good probiotic.

      Gotta digest all dat protein.

This is great copy... and a brilliantly executed whiteboard scribe.

The drama and intrigue are off the charts high... and the copy moves you cinematically through several significant "acts".

We've got secret, political corruption all the way up to the highest offices in conspiracy.

We've got the food conglomerates deliberately obfuscating the truth in order to line their pockets.

We've got symptoms that virtually anyone can relate to.

We've got a scary cause that's IN YOU, RIGHT NOW, ticking like a time bomb.

We've got a solution that's "pop a pill" easy and instantly understandable (and believable)

I'd be stunned if this isn't producing excellent results.

Sure wish they exit popped to a transcript...

Just saw a great :60 retargeting video ad for this spot on YouTube this AM.

P.S. Yes, I just used a hashtag on WF.

Does he have an affiliate program set up? Checked out the site, he's got another supplement that I'd be interested in promoting actually.

enger, thanks for sharing this (and Brian for the analysis)

Here's the sales letter version: http://keybiotics.com/video.html

I have a client/partner who sells a male supplement. He's wanting me to help him but I wasn't sure about the physical product in a VSL pitch, this is great reference.

Finally sat though the whole video. Gawd damn that's a long one.

Looks like there's some questionable claims in the video, such as claiming that 250 million Americans are suffering from "this parasite," (candida overgrowth) which is a controversial diagnosis in the medical community. There is absolutely no scientific evidence that taking probiotics can "cure" candida syndrome. Also a lot of doctors evidently do not even consider candida overgrowth a problem.

I hope they had a lawyer go over the copy.

Credibility boosters are almost always a good idea. However, I'd be very hesitant about using or citing Wikipedia sources. Pretty much anyone can create or edit Wikipedia pages, their credibility isn't worth much. In fact, most of the clients I've worked with outright refuse to accept them.

However, if your sources are respectable and reliable, why wouldn't you list 'em? Aside from testing results, of course...

    Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, I never use Wikipedia references for client work.

That said, your doctor probably is!

A study reports 50 percent of doctors have used it for medical information.

"...50 percent of physicians reporting that they’ve consulted the community-edited, online encyclopedia for information on health conditions."

I'm starting to see ads for this product everywhere.

And the banner ads are pretty catchy...

One shows a zombie-like figure with the headline "Are You Infected" or something like that. Dude on the banner looks like a zombie because he's "infected"

With the popularity of zombie movies and shows right now (over 10 million watch the Walking Dead) I think it's a great banner.

I was going to post it here but couldn't find the one I just saw.

An old one is on this page...

Great feedback guys... What intrigued me was how they are doing so well with such a long video (50 plus minutes) considering most VSLs are between 15-20 minutes and it seems to be a relatively cheap front end product. The elevator pitch at the beginning selling you on watching the video is almost 3 minutes by itself! I was also intrigued by the references underneath. From what I hear though, this video is killing it!
