Quality Fitness Product created, authority website, what next?

Hi everyone,

I recently discovered this forum and have to say, is just as valuable as having a mentor around.

Anyway, my first post, I have created a quality information product. It is a fitness/muscle-building/well being book similar to Vince Delmonte's No-Nonsense Muscle Building book, at least in that category. I plan to sell it for $77, with possible upsells.

I have branded myself well with a powerful company name and slogan, and logo. The logo also has a graphical version of myself in it. I should also mention, down the road i plan to sell apparel with my company brand/logo on it as i think it will do well, many people can relate to its meaning. So you get an idea of where it's going/where it's at.

My main question is; I have a site currently being built for me, containing blog articles, a "products" section, all that good stuff. I'm a member of Aweber, but haven't done anything yet with it. I'm wondering, once the site is up and the product is available, I realize the power of good copy, and definitely am planning on hiring a copywriter to cover a lot of content. Is this what you guys would recommend, hands down for something like this?

This is going in the direction of an authority-type website/brand, and I'm in it for the long haul. I'd like to eventually do this FT and be able to quit my day job, and focus on continuing to create quality products for people to use and purchase.

Can anyone point me to the right direction in terms of copy for the site and product, or suggest anything, at all? How much should I pay, what parts of the site should contain copy, etc? Obviously the blog section will be all me writing. But how about as far as even email marketing?

Any tips/recommendations for a copywriter? How much should I expect to pay to have someone put together a sales page advertising my main product?

I'm very new to all of this, so even if it's other advice/tips/things to keep in mind or watch out for, I'd appreciate all of your feedback. I know there are a lot of questions here.

Thanks all!

You definitely need a copywriter for your sales page...

Unless you want to spend the hours learning how to write effective copy (which is recommended in for various reasons).

I look at the other fitness experts that have taken the same route is you...

Vince Delmonte and Elliot Hulse are the two that come to mind.

    It's clearly a profitable method.

But there are ALOT of fitness/muscle building products being sold on the web without doing everything you suggest.

But in terms of building a brand and an audience that you can use for years to come... do what you have planned.

You might want to model Craig Ballantyne who became hugely successful with his own fitness products before becoming the editor at Early To Rise.

He is a good guy to learn from given your subject matter.

My answer was good. Vin's answer was better. I would get in touch with Vin if I were you.
