My formula for winning squeeze pages
1. A short but catchy headline
The headline is by far the most important piece of the puzzle. Without a catchy headline, visitors will leave your site and you'll never get them back.
Try using words like, "discover", "secret", "how to", "how I", and "introducing".
2. A short introduction paragraph that promises results
The first paragraph of your squeeze page should tell your readers exactly what they're going to learn. Make a big promise here. This paragraph should range from two to five sentences, all of which should be short and punchy.
3. Bullet points that emphasize your benefits
I dare say that the bullet points are the second most important part of your squeeze page. The purpose of the bullet is to persuade the reader with quick and easy to read reason why they should sign up for your newsletter.
Make sure to effectively bold and italicize your bullet points so they stand out even further. I'll even recommend using graphics as your bullet points.
4. Expand on the bullets
Take two to three short paragraphs and expand on what your bullets tell the reader. Remember since you only have a few lines here make this as persuasive as possible.
5. Call to action
Use a Johnson box for your call to action. This helps differentiate your call to action from the rest of the page. Use very specific instructions in your call to action, tell tte reader exactly what you want them to do. Leave no room for doubt.
Think about leaving the name field out if you are promoting a newsletter. This is a guaranteed way to get a higher opt-in rate. Sure, this results in less personalization in your e-mails but you'll have a much larger database to work with.
6. Disclaimer
Always, always, always have a disclaimer at the end of your squeeze page. This can be as short as, "We value your privacy and will never sell or give your e-mail away."
Your readers are more cautious than ever about giving their information away. You need to do your best to satiate them and guarantee that you will never abuse the permission they've given you to contact them.
I hope that you take this information to heart and give it a shot. It's not unusual to see 50% or higher when using this formula. I've used it on countless squeeze pages and it always amazes me when I see the results that it pulls.
