The Winner of the 2014 BBC Corporate Guff Awards is...

Rob Stone, CEO of advertising agency Cornerstone... come on down!

As brands build out a world footprint, they look for the no-holds-barred global POV that's always been part of our wheelhouse.

"To reach out", a previous winner, almost won again as the loathsome phrase has spread into "reaching down" (talking to underlings) and "reaching around" (talking to a group).
I've never heard "reaching down" before.

I'd be interested in hearing how many people who used it have been hospitalized for face-punch related injuries.

The two hottest contenders were a bottle of water, recently described as an "affordable, portable lifestyle beverage"...

I guess it's as good as calling a $30 pen a "writing instrument"... For the market, that phrasing just might work...

The article talks about a reach around. That definitely has a different meaning where I come from. No pun intended.

Yeah I noticed that. Straight out weird isn't it. Althought the copy does say "reaching around" rather than "reach around". Subtle difference.

With an uncontrollable amount of people logging on to cash in on the season’s best sales, the management of the retail cum marketing incentive could not deliver on its promise the minute the sales started.
