Apparently, all you really do need is a starving crowd

From today's NY Times:
NARAHA, Japan -- "Out of work? Nowhere to live? Nowhere to go? Nothing to eat?" the online ad reads. "Come to Fukushima."

That grim posting targeting the destitute, by a company seeking laborers for the ravaged Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant, is one of the starkest indications yet of an increasingly troubled search for workers willing to carry out the hazardous decommissioning at the site.

Rob... did you happen to go through Gary Bencivenga's retirement seminar?

This page you posted... I swear it seems they copied an ad that Gary shared with us...

I don't recall exactly what the ad said... but it was along the same lines.

The ad talked about it would be the most dangerous work ever, that some people wouldn't return... it was in sub-Artic temps (it may have been Antarctica), unlivable conditions, etc...

I mean, this ad basically said "this work sucks, it could kill you, and you'll be miserable"

And I guess this ad drew so many responses, it was one of the most popular job postings ever.

So, it's funny how this same article you posted is almost the same thing... I'll have to find that other ad because the similarities are uncanny.

    Discerning History » Shackleton’s Ad

Men wanted for hazardous journey. Low wages, bitter cold, long hours of complete darkness. Safe return doubtful. Honour and recognition in event of success.

    Yep familiar ad.

“Out of work? Nowhere to live? Nowhere to go? Nothing to eat?” the online ad reads. “Come to Fukushima and enjoy the radiation"
