Lying in your copy doesn't pay... Trudeau sentenced to 10 years

I remember the first time I saw his "weight loss cures" infomercial... I was baffled at some of the claims he was making.

Of course, I'm sure the alphabet agencies know who to go after, based
on wallet size... but still...

I've been following this for a while now. I think he had plenty of opportunity to get himself out of his mess and rebuild. He's done it before.

Unfortunately, he chose to repeatedly lie to the courts and tried to hide his money instead of paying his penalties.

Greed is what landed him in prison.

Kevin Trudeau is the most audacious bullshit artist to walk the face of Earth.

I am so happy to see this piece of filth behind bars. And all the brainwashed morons who partook in his GIN network ... they must all be shitting themselves right now.

What? You didn't want to become part of a secret society that runs the world behind the scenes?

Kevin Trudeau Exposed (Sells "Memberships" to the Illuminati for $1,000)

"...he claims to have been a member of a secret society, strongly hinting he is referring to the Illuminati, and that through his membership in this society, he learned how the world really worked, including how drug companies were suppressing natural cures for diseases in order to allow them to sell more drugs to treat those diseases, instead of allowing people to be cured.

Trudeau alleges that because of his drive for wealth and his knowledge of the human mind, that he was approached by members of a powerful "secret society" and asked to join. Trudeau writes, "As a member of this secret society I have sat in private meetings with heads of state from countries around the world. I have attended secret international business meetings where business leaders, politicians, and media moguls coerce together to create the new world order with global control over individual people everywhere." (page 11)

He says that as a member of this society, he worked covertly for the wealthiest families on earth. During his alleged involvement he says he made hundreds of millions of dollars and lived a life many could only dream. "Members of this society includes politicians, captains of industry, news journalists, celebrities, musicians, writers, scientists, law enforcement officials, movie stars, and more," he says. (page 13)"

I am a great believer in people taking responsibility for their own actions.

There is a great line from the Rodgers's and Hammerstein musical, "The King And I"... "If allies are strong with power to protect me, might they not protect me out of all I own?"

The term "Brainwashed morons" shows a major disconnect between marketing, understanding the market, and the thought process that it is okay to "protect me out of all I own."

And those thoughts lead to a philosophy discussion not suitable for this forum.

      Marvin

P.S. - I don't condone what Trudeau supposedly did... just looking at the other side of that coin.

"Major disconnect"? I'm not buying that for a second.

When you lack the foresight or ability to know that someone is feeding you barrel after barrel of snake oil, when you allow someone to scam you out of thousands of dollars, when that person has a reputation for lies, deceit, fraud.... when you're "king" is exposed on national tv for being a con-artist, and you continue to follow him like the leader of some religious cult, worshiping the very ground he walks on, when you follow ANYONE with that level of blind faith, you are a brainwashed moron.

And I don't call that philosophy. I call that good old fashioned common sense.

Marvin was not in any way, shape, or form justifying or excusing Trudeau's actions.

He was making the point most famously made by Benjamin Franklin, "They who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."

Everything you wrote can be applied not only to Trudeau, but to those claiming the right to protect us from him.

One last comment... think about your comments and people who vote.

Problem is in the weight loss market the use of terms like easy, without hunger etc etc are common.

Really the issues aren't so much over what he was selling, but the fact that years ago he was told by a court not to do infomercials and he continued, they slapped him with a judgetment, he would settle, then continue, then he would get another judgement and then settle. He basically kept defying the courts so they finally had enough.

He needs to be taught a lesson. Some folks who con people never learn until they are jailed.

I come across a lot of similar folks who want sales copy for their latest weight loss products. Most are crap. Occasionally I find a few that are good. I wrote sales copy for 2 gals in who have been featured in fitness magazines, dvds etc and their products were excellent.

The weight loss market has a lot of grey areas.

    That's a pity.

Should have gone into self help.

Promise to "change someone's life in a week" and it's all good... after all, the meaning of "change your life" is subjective.

Promise to "help someone lose 20 pounds" and you could get sued when they only lose 15... After all, a promise is a promise.

It just goes to show how the legal system only deals in what can be "proven," not what's "right."

Ha ha. The Illuminati. Synonymous with area 51. A secret society apparently everyone knows about.

    God Bless!

Was browsing the paranormal section at Barnes and Noble a few years ago. Found his books there. Turns out the clerks sometimes did this as a joke.

    According to Trudea:

“If I ever write a book again, if I ever do another infomercial again, I promise no embellishment, no puffery and absolutely no lies,” Trudeau told U.S. District Judge Ronald Guzman in a remorseful tone. “I know going forward I will be a better person.”
But, didn't he have years of second chances; warnings and red lights that should have given him this 'wake up call' long before now?

Too little, too late as the judge said. And, his actions spoke very loudly.
