Examples of Squeeze Pages

Hey guys,

I know the words on the page are what really matters.

But what design best compliments that in the internet marketing niche?

For other niches I just used a super plain template, but I thought IM'ers would expect more and having a plain template could hurt conversions.

Thanks,

Zach

P.S- Of course I'm not asking for your or your clients squeeze pages with all copy in tact, I'd really just like to hear a general idea of what is best as design or see a template before copy was placed in.

      Hi Zach,

Design depends on the niche. Contrary to Ray's blog post, 52% isn't an outrageous opt in rate. I have clients who's pages convert at 60%. So while 52% is excellent it isn't un-heard of and most certainly achievable for you!

In testing many pages, ugly pages tend to do better BUT not all the time, a recent Harvard study showed people buy based on the look of your site, so sometimes the more credible and pro the better. It TOTALLY depends.

The BEST advice I can give you is this. Don't spend an arm and leg on design and copy, put something up and test it, then tweak and test more. Testing is king!

This is pulling a respectable 38% to 42% depending on the key word...

(Deleted from post cause I'm new here - Ha. DM me if you want it..)

I'll post after I hit 15 post cause my old account here vanished. I'm keeping the tested elements below cause they are very useful for you to test on a squeeze page.

The signature under the headline instead of the bottom increased response.

Losing the header from the site increased response

Obviously adding the picture - as ugly as it it - helped response. (clearly I'm NOT Mr. Subtle)

Going with shorter, rather than longer copy increased response.

Frame around page vs. open page increased response.

Cutting out other options to click off page increased response.

Not earth shattering - but pulling better than most on cold leads without endorsement.

A solid swipe most can copy.

Oh, an important point on opt-in squeeze pages....

Be sure you are comparing apples to apples.

A squeeze page from a product launch that is receiving endorsed traffic will ALWAYS have a much higher opt-in than a page that is receiving cold adword traffic.

What comes before the squeeze page impacts the response rate dramatically.

Changing the headline in a Google ad can alter your opt-in rate even though you didn't alter a single pixel of the squeeze page or it's copy.

Changing nothing but the name of the report or bait you are offering on your squeeze page without touching the copy or design can also have a dramatic impact - I've had 30% to 50% leaps from just that alone.

So, is the squeeze page a work of genius, or is it the headline, or an element in the copy or adding a signature below the headline or adding a picture to the opt-in box or changing the name of the freebie or altering an element before a prospect ever even hits the squeeze page?

Indeed. I've seen pages that have converted at over 60%. A lot of that rate is due to the quality/type of traffic. Cold traffic is going to convert at a lower rate than warm traffic.

    Hope this helps
