John Carlton swipe for guitar

Hi, I am looking for the ad that this bullet came from:

Learn the shortcut secrets of instantly playing 99% of all rock, hard rock and new wave tunes out there. (Most songs are stunningly simple, once you know the pro-level tricks.)

I found another post on here asking a similar question but the ads linked to in that post are for OHP and they don't seem to be John Carlton's style.

Thanks in advance! I know alot of you guys must have Carlton ads all over!

      Thanks Dave. I tried google and bing. The only thing that comes up is copies of a power point presentation and pdfs of a workbook - not the actual sales letter.

    The power point is awesome!

    I have about 25 guitar magazines form the 70's, I am pretty sure I saw a a similar but shorter headline in one of those. Gotta love those old magazines for swipe files.

    Once I find it I'll scan the add and let you guys know.

      Not guitar-specific, but look at the "Perfect Pitch" ads that used to run in Guitar Player and Bass Player (and probably other) magazines. Maybe the ads are still running--but even if they aren't, worth a look. The headline typically was a play on "They laughed when I sat down at the piano..." The ads ran for years in pretty much every issue, so must have been winners.

      Based on the style of the ads I think they were John Carlton's, but I don't know for certain.
