Your prospect's comfort zone

All the hubbub relating to the forum name change has provided an instructive example of human thinking.

Folks don't like to leave their comfort zone.

As a copywriter, keep that in mind when writing your copy. Instead of trying to change your prospects' thinking, climb into their brains and determine what they're already comfortable with... and sell to them from that perspective.

The Copy/Sales skills of several here, sold the new owners on not changing the NAME (although it was deeper than that). So, as far as human thinking goes, it isn't about comfort zones...more about CHANGING THE THINKING.

      Apples and oranges.

Logical arguments and complaining changed the minds of forum owners... not buyers of products.

I saw logical arguments made with emotional appeals, sounds like copywriting to me.

        Apples and corn cobs.

If you're trying to say we should cater to their comfort level, I'm wondering where you've worked.

I worked on the Proactiv campaign back when, and I can tell you we didn't try and play to the comforts of those with acne.
Duh, of course people are trying to solve problems.

      I'm talking about their thinking.

Take a guy who can't get dates. He thinks if he just learns a few pick-up lines, women will go out with him.

Truth is, it's his inner game that needs to be improved.

Sell him the pick-up lines first and sell him the inner game stuff later.
