Help with promoting my services

Hello fellow warriors, I've been learning copywriting for about 6 months now and I feel like I have enough training to write a successful copy. But for the life of me I can't figure out how to land clients, I think my main problem is delivering a persuasive pitch to market my services. I know it can't just be that these business owners are not interested, I've figured I am the problem. I've sent out a lot of proposals in the past couple months but haven't gotten any response. I want to know what would be your best sales pitch if you were contacting let's say a business owner or let's say someone who listed expensive stuff on an auction site like ebay per se. If you can give me some examples of pitches that worked for you in the past that would be appreciated too.

    A successful copy?

    No. Ready you're not.

You think? Maybe? Okay, I'm being facetious. My apologies. But you're NOWHERE near ready to "deliver a persuasive pitch."

    1) Decent copy put in front of slightly off traffic will convert.

    2) Perfect copy put in front of the wrong eyes will die a horrible death.

    3) Bad "copies" put in front of anyone's eyes will be immediately deleted.

I suspect you fall into example #3.

You think you're here to get help with an effective pitch. Turns out that's not the case.

You're REALLY here to spend some time on the stickies.

Is this the kind of specificity you're "proposing" to prospects?

    Writing's on the wall.

Okay I like the way you ripped me apart here, like seriously. I guess I honestly don't know where I stand as far as copywriting and maybe didn't convey what I was trying to say correctly. So what would you suggest I improve on?

Dude... the worst thing anyone can do is blow smoke your behind.

I told you what to do. Go into the stickies and study.

        Want more specific advice?

        Ask more specific questions.

Post one of your "proposals." Tell us who you avatar is, why your offer is irresistible, how you gathered and used social proof, etc.

Your post immediately exposed you aren't a copywriter... and you have a long journey ahead of you. That's okay. Everyone's gotta start somewhere. And it begins with knowing what you don't know... then throwing yourself into learning.

Learning. Ouch. It's like a four letter word, because it implies lots and lots of work. The thing is, if you're passionate about this, it ain't work.

Don't take this the wrong way, but if you've been studying for six months and think you're ready to 'write a successful copy', you might want to consider learning from a new source.

Also if you're sending out proposals using huge chunks of text like in your post, I'm not surprised you're getting no responses.

      So what would you suggest?

    And it's not "a copy".
