Getting clicks no conversions

Hi guys,

Just started in the dating niche and have a landing page to sign people up to a dating tips mail out (pretty standard, free book giveaway etc) but am getting few signups. could you please take a look at my squeeze page and give me some advice?

  • Well for starters, I would address a pain point first in the Headline. Something like "Do All The Beautiful Women Simply Pass You By?"

    Also, try removing the name field and just provide the email box. This will reduce the amount of actions required by your visitors and appear more anonymous. You already have some good supporting bullet points, but make sure you drive the pain point home first, then what you are going to do to help them.

      It's not wonderful, but I've seen a lot worse.

      I'm wondering if the traffic's not very good, to be honest?

      These are all things "to test", really, rather than "to do". (But you need some decent traffic, to test, and obviously you have to start somewhere!).

      The other things I would do, straight away, myself, are ...

      1. Use dark blue or dark green instead of bright red for the headline (I might be wrong but the split-testing I've seen for this kind of thing all actually showed bright red to be the worst converting color for squeeze page headlines. Something to test, anyway.)

      2. Take away the Unnecessary Capital Letters Starting Most of the Words in the Headline!!

      3. Test different button wording - I'm not convinced that "Get Instant Access" is right for this, though I know it's popular.

      4. Take away the social media sharing buttons: they have no place at all on a squeeze page!

      5. Balance up the header pictures a bit better, and make them take up a little less depth so you can get the whole thing "above the fold"? (I think you might find better pictures, for this, too - especially the middle one?)

      (6. There might even be a bit of confusion about whether people are opting in for the freebie shown or just for "free tips in their inbox"? Don't know whether this matters.)

      (Just my perspective - but that's what I'd do, myself).

  • well I don't feel that I 'need' your product.

    I still receive some dating niche related all those pages made we want what they had to offer.

    as a man you know what its like to see a girl, want a girl and get rejected by a girl. Use those emotions, that pain.

    between Alexa, and mart they have you covered as far as the technical is considered.

  • *VERY* tough niche.

    the level of copy you need to convert is off the charts.

    way higher than IM or other niches.

  • Give something away on the squeeze page perhaps..

    Like a tried and tested tip, or trick... give something away on page, in a video format or text perhaps.. something short, sweet and effective .. give them some kind of proof you can help them BEFORE you help them.

  • and the most beautiful women .. where? according to who? .. in their local area.. in the world and then you use those particular pictures (of women) .. are they the type most men see everyday or fawn after?

    I guess I'm just suggesting being more specific .. speak right at your customer avatar especially in the dating niche a customer avatar can really help you shape your campaign.

  • How well do you know this market?

    At the moment it looks like you're an online marketer trying to cash in on the niche. You don't come across like an insider who has been where they are and can show them how to get where they want to go.

    Using phrases like 'chick magnet' is pretty cheesy and lazy writing. I'm not sure if English is your first language or not but the whole thing reads pretty awkward.

    Study the market more, look at what successful sites are doing and upgrade your offer and copy to make it more compelling. As it stands, it's far too easy to click away.

  • You're not hitting the pain point.

    I've written a ton for this market...and used to BE the demographic.

    So I can say this with confidence.

    For example, what does "pass you by?" even mean?

    It creates no picture in my mind. Nothing for me to go...

    "Damn, that's exactly what's happening to me..."

    ...to.

    One of the best copywriters in this niche, Eban Pagan, summed up the secret to writing Men's Dating copy beautifully (paraphrasing):

    "If you can describe their problem to them better than they can, they'll trust you because they feel that you understand them."

    When it comes to accomplishing that ^, vague doesn't equal value. I'd suggest hopping on here and reading some posts for a few days...
