Does anyone have Experience Wiriting Athletic Performance Ad's?

Hi all,

been away from the computer for a looong time. It's done me alot of good, but im ready to mail to a red hot list of 2000 student athletes for my performance training and speed development services and i need a really sweet letter, one page NO longer, quick to the point, exciting and intense introducing myself and my company and a great introductory offer on our affordable performance training memberships and speed camps.

Can anyone here help? if so what would you charge for a short one page letter with a handwritten note at the bottom?

    If you are going to mail a letter, you should have more than
    just a one-page thing. The cost of postage is your major
    expense.

    I think I can nail this one... but I'd want to do some collateral
    pieces too - response card, grabber, that sort of thing.

    You know direct mail is a process, yes? The 1st mailing
    primes the pump... you leave a lot off money on the table
    if you don't mail at least 3 times with a good list.

      What field of athletic performance are you in? I can get inside the heads of runners, considering I run competitively myself and know a number of current and former national level runners. I know what makes them tick, so if this is your target, let me know.

      If it's weight and body building training, and from the look of your photo it might well be, then that's not my thing.

  • Looks good man - seems to be along the same lines as DeFranco's stuff? I bet the SPARQ affiliation cost more than a few dollars

    Hugh, by the looks of it (site at Elite SPARQ Trainers offering Guaranteed Performance Enhancement!), it's a complete S + C program for younger athletes in American football, basketball and the like. The SPARQ thing stands for "Speed, Power, Agility, Reaction and Quickness".

    So is doing the SPARQ testing like basically like a SWOT analysis or scouting report on yourself, showing you what you need to work on? Looks like a good system, compared to a lot of the stuff out there today.

    Things like that (testing, having goals, focusing on performance) are the difference between really training and merely "working out".

    Vin Montello would be a great guy to talk to... his copy for exercise-based niches is pretty damn good, particularly if it's for some kind of weight-training based program.
