Please critique my landing page

Hi all

I am looking to increase the conversion rate on my site drivingtestangel.com

I have done quite a lot of work recently on various rewrites and design modifications, but nothing I do seems to make a difference on the conversion rate which is roughly 1 in 35 visitors.

Any advice or constructive critisism would be much appriciated.

Thanks,
Joe

    1) I dont understand the picture. My eye first goes there and I think what does this have to do with driving test.
    2) Headline needs to show benefit, guarantee, something. "Picture yourself driving your friends to the prom once you get your license." Anything that shows benefits to your target audience. In other words, my goal is not to pass the test it is the benefit that that brings.
    3) You should offer something free and only display price at end of page.
    4) Where it says, "Click here to try this for 9.99" If I am "trying something" this implies I am trying before I buy so the message is mixed.
    5) When I think drivers test, I dont want to be thinking BLOOD and BRAINS! Ack I would be worried enough about killing myself on a highway!
    6) You need some kind of cover pic. I was confused as to what you are selling.
    7) My guess is you are too low on the price.
    8) You may want to market as something besides drivers test helper if it calms you down. For me it is public speach that I wish i can calm down for.
    9) I dont know about your target market. Teaching a teenager about calming down just seems almost wrong. Maybe also think about foreign drivers and blanket key cities with ads (Toronto, BC, New York, LA)

Just my thoughts. Good concept tho.

I have no agenda but to help those in the same situation. This I feel will pay the bills.

If I am not mistaken a 1 in 35 conversion (or 3%) is really good! Ive read somewhere that a good site has a conversion rate of 1.8%. I would recommend though making a site frame. It will ad some depth to the site. Right now if feels like I am reading a regular Word doc.

    Good Luck!

If your conversion rate is one in 35 you don't need to do anything except raise the price of your program. Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback - I didnt realise that the conversion rate was pretty good already. I guess I'll put up the price and work on getting more targetted traffic.

@RentItNow - We are marketing towards the UK market. Take a look at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L_plate and you should understand the image a bit more. Thanks for taking the time to list all of your points.

1 in 35 is indeed pretty good. That is what? About 3%. That beats the conversion rate of most minisites out there.

I agree, 1 in 35 is a good conversion rate. My feelings are if you make too much changes, that rate could go down, rather than up.
