How to wriet an email letter to a gift shop decision maker

Hi,

I am selling collectible attraction badges to gift shops and museum and other attractions.
I want to write an intro email regarding this product.

I am just thinking about "what kind of problem these decision makers have?"
Any ideas?

Our product bring them new visitors, they also like to take the pictures of badge and attraction and they will discuss it on internet (they are collectible).

But how to convince a gift shop buyer who is terrified by one more product which can last at his stock again?

Thank you!!!

Their problem is probably that they're looking for new things to sell... things they can turn a decent profit off of and which will fly off the shelves (for the gift shops at least, museums just want things people will want to look at).

Can you expand on what a collectible attraction badge is?

Just a badge which someone can wear for a day or?

I'm just not clear on what it is.

  • Retailers want quality, fast moving "must have" products with a good margin.

I wouldn't use emails to tell them about your badges.

Because "I'm tying to sell you stuff" emails are easily ignored.

And most people react badly if an unsolicited email is trying to get them to buy something.

Instead send a letter with an enticing "pitch" showing how unique, well designed and popular the badges are.

Mention your price and the retail price with the volumes that are likely to be or have been sold showing the potential profits.

Outline any merchandising you do (which makes the sale easier - with virtually no effort).

Maybe offer "exclusive" areas (if they act fast).

Ask them if they would be kind enough to give you a yes/no decision.

    And most importantly enclose...

    A sample. Or samples.

Depending on what type of gift shops but I would do this.

If it were seaside type shops. Get in your car or jump on the bus/coach with a bag full of your stuff and literally go to the shops. I mean tourist type places have them in close proximity so you could hit a dozen in a day. Seeing and touching your items will give them more of a reason to place an order there and then.

You could easily close 50% of the stores.

Go home tired but with a chunk of orders ready to send out.

When you say "attraction badges" I'm guessing you mean the "I've Been To Disneyworld" type?

Well get some made up of the place you're going to and hit the road.
