You can filter your search to just look for an eCommerce store or, in particular, an Amazon store. They are being bought and sold all the time on Flippa and other directories.

Be mindful of what you are buying in terms of technology.

If the website is built using custom PHP then this will be more difficult for you to manage and improve, if you are going it alone. You would need to hire a web developer to help you manage a custom PHP store, if you don't have the skills yourself.

Quite a few of the stores being sold will be built on systems like Woocommerce (extension for Wordpress), OpenCart, Magento etc.

Learn what the implications of each software is for your ongoing time and budget. Magento is more difficult to maintain without a dedicated server, for example. Whereas Woocommerce is just about free if you have basic tech skills.

Or rather than purchasing a pre-existing store you can build your own!

There are a few training courses online that will teach you how to build your own online store with tools such as Bigcommerce and Shopify.

If you build your own then you will have a clean slate, which can be important in terms of design (how it looks to your customers) and also inbound traffic (clean traffic).
