I've got my sales tax id, my ein, bank checking account - i have been applying everywhere and searching through lots of merchandise, and most of the products I've come across are not even on Amazon's catalog, don't have a good sales rank, or have low number of reviews

So how do I find the popular and profitable products, without wasting hours searching listing after listing?

So far I've I applied to Ingram Book Company, Baker and Taylor, PetWholesaler, Entertainment Earth, WholesalePet, Garden Sunlight, D&P company, Castle Toy Inc, wexpress, precision products, BBCW distributors, 1wholesale, digpets,

There's just too many products, millions of them. I can't possibly go through them all!

Finding wholesalers that have hot selling products can be a daunting task. Here, are two methods I would suggest that should give you better results:

    1. Use Amazon to find out what kinds of products are hot selling products. This will give you an idea of the kinds of products that tend to sell well on Amazon. You can then use this information to go looking for wholesalers. For example you might find that BBQ Sauce sells well on Amazon. Well knowing that, you could then go after the most popular bbq sauce companies.

    2. You could reverse engineer existing sellers especially those that you can tell are buying from wholesalers. You will want to check their numbers to see if they fit your buying criteria but you can find manufacturers this way.

Then, once you have established your process, you can outsource it to a VA to do this work for you. You can find VAs to do this work for $2.50 an hour.

Of course, recognize that there are still flaws in the wholesaling game for the long term. Wholesalers are increasingly limiting the number of Azn sellers they allow and can change their policies without notice. Also, just as you can reverse engineer other sellers, they can do the same for you. I put this last part in not to discourage you but just to let you know that you are not doing anything proprietary here and so you should anticipate that a certain percentage of your hard work will be lost and you will have to keep feeding the beast.

agree with the person above when I used to sell on amazon I would see what the top sellling products were and then type into goolge that name of the top selling product and put wholesale behind that. Now this may not work everytime depending on the product but it is a start.

A second thing I learned was to go to a website called alibaba and worked with people from them of getting my own product created and then having them ship the products to the amazon fulfillment store.

But, you have too take into account the product, your potentially profit margin and the time of year. So, its crhistmas time so there is a high chance that toys and other products will be literally flying off the shells. So I would plan accordingly

I have no personal experience with liquidation.com, but I was looking into this and found a LOT of complaints about poor product quality and terrible customer service. You might want to Google 'liquidation.com complaint'.

If you are willing to outlay hundreds of dollars, sometimes thousands, on inventory that is by all accounts a lucky dip, perhapsyou might consider a safer option.

It is possible to establish a stable supply line of first quality products by buying small or large quantities direct from real manufacturers overseas. No guesswork. No nasty surprises. The process is easy, and if you choose items that are ex stock, you can have them delivered to your door within a few days.

Many will think door to door air courier charges are too high, but I and my franchisees used air couriers or EMS (International Express Post) almost exclusively. After all costs including those courier charges, we were able to sell at a minimum of Cost X 250%.

The secret? Buy direct from genuine manufacturers and know how to be sure you are getting the very best price. Our orders ranged from $100 per shipment to $50,000, with most around $500.

One of my students posted on the forum about buying for a total cost of $2 and selling for $25. Until people get real quotes from genuine manufacturers they cannot imagine what profit margins are possible.

By the way, check out the 141 adverse reports about liquidation.com on Ripoff Report | ATI Search of Complaints & Reviews and see if you would prefer to buy direct from an overseas manufacturer.

I am no longer importing. I began importing in 1987 and franchised the business because sales grew too fast for me and my family to handle.

We imported many different products, the majority of which were private labeled. Sales were almost all B2B, although as time went on a small amount of B2C business developed.

I sold the business a few years ago due to health reasons, and now I teach how to import.

The principles of product sourcing and importing are the same, whether B2B or B2C, so there is virtually no limit to the products you can find to import, but you must choose saleable, profitable, products.
