Drop Shipping / Spigen

I am brand new to this forum, but have been lurking for a long time. I have just started a new project to do some drop shipping on eBay/Amazon, and possibly a new storefront.
I applied with Spigen, the manufacturer of cell phone cases, to be a distributor, but haven't heard anything back. Has anybody else done this with Spigen?
Along these lines, let's be right up front: Are most wholesalers REALLY going to have prices I can profit on eBay/Amazon with, or do I need to contact manufacturers directly like I have with Spigen?
I'm already a member of xsdepot.com and I am finding profit margins are tiny for most products due to the drop ship fee of $1.99 and their shipping charges.
