Hello there,

In case I have 2 different products both from different suppliers. And someond order these two products - what can I do?

Split the order ?
Have the supplier send it to me first and i'll resend both attached?

And most important, how to avoid these situations?
I use shopify.

Any tips are welcome.

I split the order and have each item sent to the customer.

      Is this common? Legal?

Why would it be illegal? I send the customer each shipments tracking number with a note that "x will be shipped separately" and haven't had any issues in 14 years of business.

Sometimes I will get all the items shipped to me and combine into 1 box, but this generally delays the shipment by 4-7 days and I find customers prefer faster shipping even if they are split into several boxes.

Order a bunch of items from Walmart.com, Amazon, etc and you will get multiple shipments. So pretty common.

If you are a regular buyer on Amazon you will see this all the time. I regularly get items delivered at different times or in separate boxes since they are coming from different warehouses. I've even had shipments on the same day but with different shipping services delivering them. If a customer asks just say they shipped from different warehouses.

What you need to be sure to do is let the customer know ahead of time that the shipments are separate so they have the expectation of this and not that they will be delivered together.

Maybe having too many suppliers is not a good ideal, right?
