Hello there. I have been permanently banned on eBay and Amazon since 2012. When called eBay this January and they didn't even want to hear what I got to say. That administrator, what a waste of q***f. On the other hand I have sold items on Bonanza.com, but the sales are so slow.

When you build an ecommerce store, and use search engine marketing / display advertising with Adwords and Bing Ads, do you use a landing page for coupon offer, or do you directly link it to the item? This is the question I have been waiting forever. I am planning on using an Auction.

I just wasted $75 on Facebook Ads, what a big mistake, I will tell you want happen later.

The answer depends on a lot of different factors. Nobody can answer this without knowing more. The only way to know for sure is to test it.

Well, alright, do you really want me to test both? It is quite risky, I will think about it before I make my decision.

Yes- test both. Set a reasonable test budget for both and see which one performs better.

I think it depends on what you are advertising in your PPC. If you are advertising a specific product, it should link to that product otherwise you might get a big bounce rate from people not seeing what they saw in the ad.

However, if you are advertising your store in general, you might want to create a landing page with a intro to your store, a special deal, mailing list sign up, etc.

I think your conversions will always be better to a landing page. If you're marketing a specific product, just focus that landing page on that product and have a way for the user to add to cart just as they would on the product detail page.

This way you can tailor the landing page so that users see exactly what they expect from the ad, and you can create custom content and visuals that are optimized to get the user to take action.

This is absolutely NOT the case.

Have you ever seen Amazon.com use a landing page?

There are situation when a landing page helps but it depends on the kind of product. the traffic source etc.

In the regards to creating a store, I prefer PPC on the landing page rather than item page. Because, it provides a lot more keyword volume and also have a conversion tracking strategy, which reduce the CPC.

I guess I am in the minority here... I do all my PPC straight to a product page. The customer is looking for what you sell...and so I take them to what they are looking for - my product!

Both. Depen on what keywords you pay. if some keywords Quality Score is lower, then you should build a LP for the keywords. You can check your adwords account Data Analysis.
