How's your aliexpress sales doing ?
I started ok then NOTHING for the past 3 days.
No one single sales which is impossible as i'm making sales for other products (other network) on the same sites ! Also, i got thousands of cookies dropped.

I don't like this at all...

Why i'm asking in here !
#ecommerce sites, wholesaling & drop shipping #aliexpress #sales
  • I've personally found aliexpress to be completely worthless compared to eBay - If anything I've found pricing to be cheaper on eBay
  • aliexpress have pretty low awareness among most people i reckon.. People aren't gonna want to buy through some "dodgy" chinese wholesaler site when good ol amazon and ebay can probably do the job..
  • They have been all the hype for a while now, but how can anyone take them serious when they sell a bunch of knock off products.... and yes the word "dodgy" fits them perfectly. I wouldn't want to be associated with such business... but that's just me. Good luck.
  • Well they are bigger than ebay and amazon put together ! So they can't be neglected in a way. But to be honest, i don't trust them at all now ! Indeed, we need to keep in mind that they are from a very "special" country to say the least....

Maybe i'm to early in this venture. I already got sites up 100% devoted to them and using their API.
Anyways, if you are using them, please share your experience so far.

    Thanks
  • I almost got scammed on Aliexpress a couple of days ago - Thank god the guy got banned and I got my money back.
  • I think aliexpress still have reputation problems need to be fixed on. People will just go over to amazon or ebay to buy something, even if it's slightly higher price than aliexpress.
  • I've found eBay to actually be cheaper and have faster shipping for everything that I looked at
  • Still no sales. IMPOSSIBLE so be aware guys...
  • AliExpress isn't really recognised.

People aren't aware whether it's a trusted source or not

    • Guys, i ain't talking about buying stuff here. I'm talking about the affiliate program
  • Aliexpress has not reached critial mass in the west yet. Give it another year or two to become Ebay's main competitor.

  • Here is my experience

For the last 3 years I have been worked with Amazon associate program rather successfully. Two months ago I started with AliExpress. Now I am getting around 3-7 sales daily on my Ali affiliate account and I consider it as a good start for me.

As for negative opinions about AliExpress I see here, I must say that you guys just can't imagine how fast AliExpress (Alibaba) is gaining popularity across the glode. 270 BILLION worth of transactions were made in 2013 ($513,698 per minute)!

People can dispute a lot about the quality of the products, scam, prices, delivery, but bear in mind that a great number of online stores (even Ebay) offers the same products at much higher price, taking these products from AliExpress. I know one owner of online store in Ireland selling apparel and handbags. In December he made $220,000 with $140,000 of net profit. It is a dropshipping method but affiliates can also benefit from it. For example, every day this year I get 1-2 sales of the same product (GSM signal amplifier) that costs $78,80 at AliExpress giving me 5% commission. What does it mean? It means that I caught some big supplier who is selling this stuff somewhere and he will probably continue buying this device bringing me commission because his customers have demand for it. And I will not be surprised if I know that he is selling this amplifier for $200-$300 at his place. Have you ever had such examples working with Amazon affiliate program? I have not. But it is a usual practice for AliExpress affiliates.

Now regarding traffic and 'no sales'. If you promote your affiliate links the same way you are doing it for Amazon, forget about sales. If you target US, forget about commission. If you want to join AliExpress and start earning with its affiliate program do a small research first and you will see that AliExpress is not popular yet in North America, but it for example dominates in Brazil, Russia, Eastern Europe, Spain, etc. However I noticed that more and more people from UK, NewZeland, Australia (and US) start buying from Ali, especially different small online and offline shops.

So, in my opinion the potential of AliExpress and its affiliate program is huge.
  • Yep, why i jumped in. I've been online since 97 by the way.

I started contacted them about setting up an affiliate program since the early 2000's !
Then they started using CJ (which i just can't stand...)
So when i saw they were actually putting out their own aff system i was sooo trilled !

I know they are doing tests and tweaking up stuff but...Let's just say that i ain't really sure about how they track the hole thing to stay polite.
Why i'm asking in here if you guys are seeing erratic numbers and stats on your end.

    • AliExpress attracts people who don't mind waiting a month for their shipment in exchange for paying next to nothing.
    • You are right. When they started the official program (in September 2014) there were many defects. The API was not built properly, there were compalints regarding payment time-frames, lack of support. But I like the fact that they are improving the sytem constantly. Recently they have released a new API that works fine like Amazon API. Now there are no delays in payments for affiliates. So, I hope they are moving in the right direction.

  • I should have "bitched" earlier LOL !
Just made a $90 commission over ONE item hehehehehe

I guess they are tweaking their stuff. Hope i won't loose too much sales because of this. (if it's not shaving that is ...)

    • Cool! Great commission for ONE item. Keep us updated.
  • What is the strategy of traffic are using? I'm from Brazil and I'm starting.

    • AliExpress is now the 2nd largest B2C in Brazil. I know many affiliates from Brazil who are working with the Program successfuly. I would recommend that you create several niche stores with many products and promote them on serach engines and social networks. I have a fresh list of top selling products from AliExpress in Brazil. If you want I can share this information that you can get an idea what direction to choose.
      • [ 1 ] Thanks

  • Buy cheap traffic from brazil
    You sould be in profit

    2cents....
  • Now i'm 100% sure there is something going on.

I strongly advise everyone to stay away from this program (at least for a while)
Over 11 days without a single sale !
    No emails returned from support....

    Pass sales
    (january/feburary) 91 sales

    March= 0 after 11 days

    No support.
    Use at your own risks...

    • Don't judge too early. The long holidays for Chinese New Yesr are just ended...
  • What ?????????????????????
    Are you kidding me ??????????????

I'm talking about sales from all around the world and from the top countries buying from Alie's
Ain't targeting at all the chinese market.

Plus, it's cookies dropped and traffic sent. What the heck the holiday has something to do with this.

You think i'm stupid or what ? Man i'm sooooooooo mad right now.
    Sorry i'll calm down.

    • Is the sales counted once the order placed or goods delivered or xxx days after delivery?
Is the cookie for lifetime or limited period?

Well, EBay is better for me as compared to Aliexpress, because ebay trades are based on local, national and international basis. For newbie, who want to set up their business, eBay provides a platform where he can easily sell his products.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks

    • I agree strongly. I am an EPN affiliate and have earned non stop money from the sports equipements with free scripts like McJiffy(Pulled off now for unknown reason). Are you aware of any good script for epn affiliates?.
  • Yeah i think i'll change the sites i'm running Alie's on to Ebay.

What script is hot these days ?
Shoot your refcode guys, i'll buy it from you.
    Thanks
  • Webproishere, have you ever gotten a payout from Ali? We haven't had a conversion yet, even after doing test buys. How long does it take for sales to show?
  • Neat huh ???
Man i've been online since 97 and i have grey hair (well what's left hahahaha)
Let me tell you that this ain't looking too good so far....

  • Now it is CATASTROPHIC!

I ain't pushing them anymore. Since they've drop to the ONE DAY COOKIE BULL....
  • I buy a lot from aliexpress for almost two years now. Our biggest stores
in my city are buying almost everything from Aliexpress. It was even on the news.
And if you see the prices they are asking compared to aliexpress. I don't have the
scamming experience yet but if it would happen now I would still payed less than when
I had bought everything from my own country. I always buy from at least 4 stars and at least 98% positive feedback. Now I have build a list of own my trusted sellers and that works for me.
But there's is always a risk. If there are people, there will be scammers. Even on ebay. It's nature
nothing we can do about it then try to avoid..
  • Why are you so afraid of Ali scammers? Just look at the seller's score, years on the market, feedback from clients + some internal feeling. Ali itself has a quite good buyer's escrow protection. Just make some test orders and you will see how good or bad the seller is. That's it. And avoid long read of tons of feedbacks and scam reports. Do your job and don't be afraid.
    • [1] reply
    • Feedback can be bought and is not reliable. This issue was included in a scathing report by the Chinese Government's Consumer Protection Watchdog. See this thread: China's Consumer Protection Watchdog Reports On Alibaba

The report deals specifically with Aliexpress' parent Alibaba, but the matters dealt with relate to both businesses. Here is part of what they say: Walter Hay.
  • I was also considering starting working under Aliexpress Affiliate Program. But surprisingly I've found a lot of negative testimonials about the terms of payment, lost cookies etc.
I decided to stop on eBay and I'm their affiliate not for a lng (almost 2 month) but it works great so far. Of course it' too early to make conclusions but I'm fully satisfied with the number of referrals (it's easy to sell), terms of payments and support.

  • I started about one month ago.I bought the Aliplugin (twice) and built 10 websites. I also created corresponding Twitter and Facebook Fan pages for each website and linked them all together. Facebook "Likes" are in the 1,000's and Wordpress visits are in the 600 to 800 visitors a day ( combined for all 10 websites). I post daily "deals" on FB. I don't know, but it seems I've done everything correctly, BUT NOT ONE SALE ! The Portals website shows only 50 - 100 total visitors to my sites. Something is very wrong and now, after reading some of these posts, I'm thinking that something is " fishy " Should I worry ?
  • Mine are solid, we are make high number of sales on daily basis, and if any missing, we are always able to track them
    • [1] reply
    • Could it be possible that there is a " linlking " problem witjh mine ?
  • It's still a one day cookie right?
    Like at Amazon?
    • [1] reply
    • I was just told that the cookie only lasts per session. Once the visitor is out of your website, no tracking cookie is left.
      • [1] reply
  • I seriously want to buy this plugin and start business with them , I have made quite a lot in the affiliate business , but I have doubts about aliexpress ...Is it one day cookie or 30 days? if its one day then its a useless site, I am just a click from getting their API any advises ?
  • Why not process the payments yourself and just do drop shipping? Instead of 8% you can have 100% added price, even 300% for low priced items. For example there are some small anti-lost devices you can put in you wallet/keys and connect to your phone via bluetooth that sell for $2.5, you can easily sell them for $8-10.
  • Yeah i know
Been thinking about it for while now.

It's just that it's time consuming.
The other way was on autopilot. So i could work on other things...

While at it, what are you using as ecommerce backend, besides shopify?
    Thanks
  • I wonder if any fresh experiences / sales especially since the cookies are session based and Aliexpress encourage buyers to use the mobile app by offering very generous discounts and coupons
It seem to me that we need to find new clients all the time as once the clients buys from Aliexpress, they will be bombarded with their advertising and go directly there next time
    Cheers karmad lovingpets.com.au
  • I've started to make some sales again but it will never be as good as it was.

One day cookie/per session SUCKS big time i'm telling ya.

Maybe it's time to start a real business.
