Well thank you for dangling your success in our faces and not letting us in on your system.

Now, what are you doing and how are you doing it? Please.

I'll tell you what, just tell ME what you're doing and I will be your test guinea pig to see if it is do'able
for others. If I can do it without knowing anything, it's a go for you with a WSO.

Plus if it takes money, I got that. Been looking into Amazon and private labeling, drop shipping, and everything else in between. I actually heard about Etsy for drop shipping as well so I have been interested in it.

Hope you spill your guts to me.

    Thanks,

    Robert C.

    p.s. p.m. me about it.

Ok, well, you do't need to say exactly "what" you are selling but, can you explain your system without giving up your niche?

I'm serious about hearing about Etsy and using it to find products and sell OFF of Etsy.

I just picked up a customer who built her entire business on Etsy. In six years she went from selling one product, to opening a store front and having 4 people working for her. I am getting an e-commerce site set up for her. If you can come up with a unique idea you can really get big quick. I am trying to figure out how I could do an WSO on this without betraying her (LOL).

I thought Etsy was for craft items that you make. I don't hear much about Etsy from anyone so assumed sales would be slow with the typical visitor in the craft business. I will have to check it out as it has been a long while since i last visited.

I would appreciate more detail though.

Well, my wife has been there for sometime now with nothing special in terms of sales.
I was optimizing her listings for seo and was analyzing the competition and figured that what sells really well are some specific digital products and also supplies if you have a good source. At this point i am testing some supplies with a ROI of 400% and in terms of competition none have cheaper price then me eheh... At least for now, the issue i think is too cut the packaging and shipping costs.

From one of my businesses in custom picture framing there is enough of a trend that etsy is gaining popularity but if it becomes a marketers platform rather than one for artists and craftspeople it will lose credibility with real artists fast and just become another selling platform.

There is never multiple works coming in from the same seller. Most are unique pieces from different sellers.

Looking at the screen shot from the OP I make an assumption of a $15 sale...maybe those balloons that are hand painted or another mass produced product from some factory.

If someone was making good money on any platform would they "spill the beans" unless they felt they could make more elsewhere?

I'm all for sharing success and capitalising on opportunity....

    ...but

Once a platform set up to support artists and craftspeople becomes a target of IM then you can be sure the "pure" artists have already started looking elsewhere.

Yes it may be a MMO opportunity but once it becomes dominated by crap made in sweatshops and marketed by profit driven individuals the dilemma for etsy will become do we take a stand and sell original uniques or do we become another amazon or ebay.

Will definitely take a closer look from a seller perspective as they are a feeder site to my added value propositions that come down the line.

Thanks to crazzy88 for the OP

There are a lot of 'how to on Etsy' books available. For instance, Stuart Turnbull has one and there are tons of them on Kindle - I've downloaded a lot of them for free. So be sure you can offer something unique before you spend your time writing.

And congrats on your success!!! I sell on Etsy but it hasn't been very profitable. Of course I haven't put in much effort, either - too busy with other streams of income.

Thanks for all the great feedback and replies everyone. I'm in the process of designing an Etsy course that i think could really help a lot of you guys out. Some of you might not know but etsy just filed to go public which should stimulate even more growth for an already rapidly growing platform.

Are you sending traffic to your Etsy store or just using the platform internally to generate traffic and sales. Either way, good for you!

As someone who bought actively on Etsy for my wedding, I commend you, sir. Selling is not something I would even begin to know a thing about but it's an incredible marketplace for unique, handmade items. Keep it up!

I lost patience with eBay last year and decided to try Etsy as an alternative.

I have found Etsy to be a much simpler site to use, the selling fees are considerably cheaper and the buyer interaction reminds me what it was like selling on eBay 10 years ago.

I'm making sales every day and enjoying every minute of it!

If you are looking for a new income stream that is fun and simple to start then do take a look at Etsy.

Yeah the items you have to sell have to be things you make. You can sell things that you purchase from a supplier or things they are hanging around the house.

Well, I think, everyone has different marketing strategy. If you share your information via ebooks, then I don't think, it may affect your business. But, it might be possible, most of the folks visit to your website for better information and may convert and generate your business leads as well,

Thank is cool. Have you used any social networks to help you for promotion. I'd like to know your experiences with Instagram. I've built a tool for making posts directly shop-able https://www.heartlist.us. Do you mind taking a look and give me some feedback? Thanks.
