Hi guys,

I want to try to start up a Ecommerce site and not sure which way to turn, I live in the UK but I already spend alot of time in Asia I am lucky I have a few properrtys I rent out and live a pretty good life on the rents but its not enough so I want to earn more money.

I would like to get into Ecommerce and dropshipping but as I`m sat at home and checking competitors out on google I dont know if I should target the US or the UK I understand some products are worldwide shipping but I`m wanting to target larger expensive products Hot tubs that kind of item and with something like that your going to buy in your own country.

I guess with that item Hot Tubs and larger items like it would guys target the US market or the UK ?

Thanks James

I'm no expert in this area, but maybe you want to narrow the scope of your products just a little more before you decide on where to sell them. It might make the metrics a little easier to review.

As a U.S. citizen and a U.S. based business owner, I can tell you that we are in the middle of some exciting times over here on this side of the pond. We are bouncing back nicely from our latest recession a few years ago and consumers are really starting to pick-up their old purchasing habits again -- especially when it comes to things related to the home, such as those hot tubs you mentioned.

If I may offer a suggestion, also read this ( http://www.warriorforum.com/ecommerc...utside-us.html ) as it also provides some more info for you.

    A couple of thoughts...

First, I would target niches that have solid demand and low-to-medium competition. Choose a niche where there are hundreds of searches a day, but you can still get onto page 1 of google organically and you can profit with PPC ads. As far as UK vs US goes, I'd go after whichever one looks more favorable when looking at this supply vs demand ratio.

Secondly, I'd try to source dropship products using your existing business entity in your home country, but if that doesn't work you'll want to register a business in the country you are marketing to (and getting suppliers in). Having a business entity in the country you are selling within makes everything a whole lot easier!

Damm you know I wanted to stay way from SEO completely other than anything I got by chance rankings, I come from SEO and have ranked many many sites since 2009 and made alot of money and I know everyone says this but I have built up and been knocked down 4 times with SEO I`m totally bored with it

I can understand that, but those are the main factors I would look at regardless of whether I was planning on implementing any SEO tactics or not. The fact that the sites on page 1 aren't well optimized or carrying too much authority means you'll do better organically no matter how much SEO effort you put forth. Make sense?

Thanks for the great answers guys ! Can I ask you guys if I started a small dropship website selling products such as Hot Tubs or any other expensive item that had actual working parts and after a few months the hot tub motor or some other part broke or became faulty how does the repair / customer service work ?

Would the customer contact me and then I contact the dropshipper ? Or would the customer go direct to the dropshipper them self ?

    Thanks guys

This type of thing shouldn't fall on you as the retailer. If it's a warranty issue the customer should be going to the manufacturer directly. If it's a standard repair they will just be contacting a local repair service provider.

Well, according to me, you should have to get a good knowledge of UK and USA marketing strategies. After that you need to focus on the reputed eCommerce platform, because they provide you logistic services. So, you can easily ask your questions to them and they fix your problems in an effective manner.
