Hello there I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for cart systems if you have a subscription based service. Currently we are using woo commerce and hate it. I would LOVE big commerce but they dont offer subscription . Serious thanks in advance

  • Have you checked out Shopify? I think they are very similar to Bigcommerce in terms of features. We also know of 3dCart, ZenCart and Magento. I'm guessing you're looking for something hosted, since you were interested in Shopify?

I had woo commerce so it doesnt have to be. I just googled and stumbled on shopify. I did like their refferal candy and as we are small potatoes I didnt want to pay the 300 set up fee of big commerce. (yet)

I never heard of Zencart =D I shall look them up and compare with 3d and Magento!

There are several carts that allow for subscription type business. Theoretically you can use something like Shopify with a third party service but there are better solutions.

      Here are four carts:

Americommerce/Americart - Extremely powerful cart if a big learning curve
Fortune3 - on my list to review, just haven't done it yet
Volusion - Not a fan of it but I do list it because it does have subscription functionality

If you want to stick with Wordpress:

Cart66 - their hosted platform gets you past the PCI compliance issue and does allow for subscriptions.

That should be a good start.

THANK YOU SOOO MUCH! Can I ask why you may not like Volusion? I would like my site to remain wordpress based, spent money on it, BUT I dont mind linking out to a 3rd party site.

Prestashop has a subscription module, it is not free (about a hundred bucks), but Prestashop is.
