2 Ebay Accounts?

Is there a reason why someone would need 2 ebay accounts? I've heard talk of this, but not really sure why this would be necessary.

    I did back in the day as I had different types of merchandise. I still have both accounts, though only really list on one. Don't think 2 are necessary though.

    If you have one eBay store that targets a higher end specialized niche you may not want to also be selling unrelated stuff along side your main products.

    Another example is in my situation I sell my brand of products on my main company ebay account. I have a second ebay account for selling used competitors items I pick up. obviously I don't want to be selling my competitors products alongside my main products as it detracts from my brand. I sell these on a secondary account.
