Have you had some of your Amazon listings deactivated recently?

Amazon sellers have been getting in touch with us recently to say some of their listings are being deactivated of late.

The problem is stemming from the fact that Amazon's Pricing Error System is not opt-out any longer and compulsory for all sellers.

On 14 January 2015, Amazon added additional safety measures for sellers. Amazon recommends that sellers set a min and max allowed selling price for their products, which Amazon will never list below or above.

If a seller does not add pricing limits, Amazon may deactivate any listings which look like a potential pricing error based on the historic prices of their products.

Amazon will notify sellers when any potential pricing errors are detected and deactivate the affected listings.

How to resolve potential pricing errors

If your listings become deactivated, you can resolve the potential pricing errors within your Seller Central account. Go to the My Inventory link and use the following options:
  • The Potential Pricing Error filter under the Fix price alerts view.
  • The Inactive filter under the Show my Inventory or the All Inventory view (in the left navigation pane).

How to reactivate your listings

To reactivate or unblock listings that have been deactivated due to potential pricing errors, sellers will need to either confirm or update the listings details through the:
  • Manage Inventory
  • Price & Quantity file
  • Inventory Loader file.
