Frozen items with Amazon?

I'm trying to learn more about selling on Amazon.

I own a dog training business and would love to sell frozen, raw dog food.

I saw on FBA that they don't accept frozen products? Yet I see frozen products being sold on Amazon?

Does anyone know how this works?

    Do not know for certain the details you have seen but I do have something for you to look at. As you may be aware the FBA business model has the business owner sending their inventory to Amazon's warehouse Then it is available for sale on the site.. The item will be in their warehouse until the sale is complete and and they ship the item to the buyer. I would assume that this cannot include frozen products.

    Many sellers on Amazon are "merchant fulfilled" (not FBA) meaning the business owner has the product and ships to the customer places an order. This many be when frozen products are sold. If you look at the product listings you can easily see the items that are"fulfilled by amazon" and those that are not. This may explain the situation.

      Thank you. Do you know if rankings or other selling factors are affected by whether it's FBA or fulfilled by the seller?

    Sales rankings are not effected by the vendor being FBA or merchant fulfilled to my knowledge. Remember that many items are sold by both types of sellers.

    Personally I do not look at sales rank too much but rather I use camelcamelcamel.com to see the sales history . You can also see the sales rank history, as well as sales by Amazon and third party sellers. I find camel to be more detailed and useful than just the snapshot of one sales rank number.
