Does the number of views on eBay items increase the likely hood of the item being first on the list of searches? Or does the amount of views do nothing?

From my active listing page, sorted by most watched.........

    Item 1: Page views: 994 Watchers: 83
    Item 2: Page views: 550 Watchers: 41
    Item 3: Page views: 1061 Watchers: 32

While item 1 ranks first on my active listing page, item 2 has a better search placement. Why? Because it has more sales (twice the click thru's to an actual sale) than item 1 does, even though item 1 has more watchers. Item 3, while it has more page views, ranks lower in search than items 1 or 2, because it has less sales attached to the listing. So, my item 2 with half the views & watchers than item 1 is the better seller, and will show higher in search placement than my item 1 or 3 will. This proves that page views and watchers are meaningless to getting sales.
