Trick for Finding What Someone is Selling on Amazon

If you are reading this post then you have likely seen people talking about their success with FBA but they won't disclose what they sell. Yet, they expect you to pay them for their vast knowledge and experience.

It's a beautiful grift because the explanation for not disclosing their products reinforces the message that they can teach you how to make 'big money'.

"If I tell you my private label products then everyone will copy them. It is soooo easy that anyone can make a boat load of cash doing this."

This sounds plausable but is only partly true. Were you to disclose a product that is relatively easy to source then you would have an army of naive people attempting to copy you (we are all naive when we start down this path so I mean no disrespect). Search Amazon for 'Moscow Mule mug' to see an example of this insanity. All of these people were naive enough to believe that buying these, sending them to Amazon, making their own listing and then giving them away in exchange for reviews was going to make them a profitable business.

It does not.

Therefore, if you are seriously considering paying somebody for a course/ebook on Private Label/Wholesale via Amazon's FBA program then I implore you to make sure that you know the reality of the teacher's success in this field before giving them money.

Finding most people's products on Amazon is usually pretty easy since they have probably been on Amazon for a long time before creating their seller account.

STEP 1
Find a review that they did for a product or find a Kindle book that they have written and see if they Commented (responded) to any of the reviews.

STEP 2
Click their name on the review or comment and note in the URL the long alphanumeric number after /profile/

STEP 3
Enter that number after seller= in this url
wwwDOTamazonDOTcom/gp/aag/main?ie=UTF8&seller=PUT-IT-HERE

If that is the seller account that person is using, you will see all of their products.

This almost always works because these people are often active in the reviews game. Amazon makes it simple to create a seller account from your existing account as opposed to creating a whole new account and people do not realize how easy it is to find them this way.

It can take some digging to find a review or comment by them but fifteen to twenty minutes is the most I've spent.

I have been disappointed in every case that I have found the products of a seller that was offering a course or ebook. But I guess if they were truly 'crushing it' they would not be selling a course or ebook.

This is not intended to 'out' people. Please do not do that. It is simply to arm you with a technique to help you do your due dilligence before giving someone your money and your time.

In my experience...

The only truly successful Amazon/eBay sellers have two things in common.

1. They work hard but enjoy what they do so it usually does not feel like work to them.

2. They don't sell a How-To ebook or course but they do involve family and friends by either cutting them in for a piece of the action or helping them set up their own business. If you befriend them and ask occassional and succinct questions then they will often give free advice.

Some of them do have active YouTube channels.

I don't think the people making these ebooks/courses are bad people. I think they may be delusional to some extent. If they focused as much effort on growing their business as they do on creating some kind of course for the quick cash they would surely be more successful in the long run.
