Building an Ebay & Amazon business. Perfect learning opportunity!

Hey Warriors! I hope this is the right place to make this post. Please advise me if It should go somewhere else...

I work for a company as the Digital Marketing & Promotions manager.
I'm in charge of all things marketing for this brand, even outside of the internet.

I'm in charge of all things social media & our ecommerce site that grossed well over 6 Figures last year. My boss wants me to completely redesign the site and also wants me to start selling on Amazon & Ebay soon.

Here's where I need advice:

1.My boss spoke about giving me a bonus for reaching sales "plateaus" on each site: Amazon, Ebay, and the web-store. What would be a fair "bonus" to ask for (before he comes up w/ one) in you guys opinion.
Ex:
X Bonus for selling 10K/Mo.
X Bonus for selling 20K/Mo., Etc.

2.What's the best Amazon/Ebay training out to date?

3.Any software worth investing in for Amazon/Ebay?

4.We're using CFWebstore for the ecom site. I hate it. I want to either switch to Wordpress or Shopify. What's the best WP ecom plugin in your opinion and why?
I'm aware of the shopify fees which are turning me off but I do like the ease of use and expandability. But again Wordpress may be MUCH better for flexibility & growth.

Here's the kicker... I'm an entrepreneur at heart, so everything I do for this company/brand I can do for myself. I feel The universe has brought me this opportunity so I can tighten myself up and solidify my skills.

What do you guys think? I'd love to get your opinions! :-)

Thanks for your feedback guys! I'm such a NEWB here so I don't know how to thank you both yet. Lol.
They're serious about Ecomm, but I think I'm more serious about it... because I want to take this thing to the high 6 figures, and get me a slice of the pie!

Why would they regret using wordpress if things heat up? I've got to come up with a full scale solution for the site by september. He just wants a re-design but I want an OVEERHAUL... It'll make my life easier in the long run. I hate CFWebstore.

Side note: I'm checking out big commerce as well. I really wanted to go wordpress but if you guys think it won't be the best option/platform for growth then I'll go BigCommerce or Shopify.

Thanks Zany. I'm leaning towards shopify/bigcommerce.

I'm "building my case" for my boss. Gathering invoices from our host and mail chimp(which I hate btw).

I'm trying to make myself indispensable to the company while learning Ecommerce and other IM skills. The end-game is eventually leaving and doing my own thing. But until then I'm diggin' in deep for them!

Only thing (besides CC fees) I don't like is ongoing payment for apps. That kinda sucks. :-p

Agreed on the comments specified by our earlier warrior friends. WordPress is not meant for the eCommerce type work.. if you go with it, at the later point of time you will have a serious challenge with the fixes.

Regarding the other questions.. if you are looking at 6 digit income ,. then you shouldn't be looking at any black hat type promotion.. Rather i would suggest, you should try out white hat SEO in long term to take it to next level.

There are other metrics that will decide the promotion criteria.

If I were to be in your shoes, this is how i would start: I will try to find out the answer for the following questions:
    1) What is the target sales turn over for the company to reach?
    2) What is the advertising budget?
    3) What is the target time to achieve that goal?

These are the fundamental questions to be asked and answer needs to be found out.

There are multiple promotions you can look at it based on the above mentioned answers.
    1) SEO
    2) PPC
    3) PPV
    4) Media buying

Hope this helps.. if you need any further ideas, we can catch up on skype...gennexttech

Thanks for all your advice and insight guys! My boss is sort of a cheap ass, and is the type to take control and screw things up. So I'll have to hold a meeting w/ him and get clarity and direction. I'm only one person.

And the part that gets me is that I could do all this stuff for myself and build my own biz online. I just need startup capital :-p

But again many thanks to you all for the advice. What do you think is fair "bonus" for reaching "plateaus" as my boss says.
