Hey all!

I am trying to get into opening an online dropshipping boutique in plus-size apparel and accessories.

I've done a ton of research before choosing this niche.

I looked at Google fit for my dropshipping needs. I've gone over 20 pages and only 4 dropship, but they are all made in China and have 1 star reviews. Is there something I'm missing or did I just choose a niche with limited supply?

The companies that are "advertising" dropshipping often are retailers, i.e. fake dropshippers. Best way to go from my expirience is to search for your keywords plus "dealer login" or "dealer info" and some other footprints. Then look at the TOS or contact them directly.

    Best of luck,

I'll second Mirko on this. Generally dropshipping is the last question you want to ask a potential supplier. A surprising number will do it (even a few that claim they don't) as long as you present yourself professionally and show that you're going to bring value to their company.

In addition to Mirko's search recommendation (which is great), I'd suggest going straight to manufacturers for the product lines you're interested in. If they don't end up working (either they don't dropship or they require you buy in bulk) you can always ask them to recommend a couple of their authorized distributors who you can try next.

    Hope this helps,
    Dave

  • Skip McGrath is a successful dropshipper who posts resources on his blog. He has this guide on finding reputable wholesalers to work with, plus a directory of wholesalers he's already vetted. It does cost money...and since I haven't used it, I can't give you any personal feedback on whether or not I think it works. But I do know and trust Skip's advice, so it may be worth looking in to, if you're willing to spend some cash.

Good luck to you. I think you've chosen a great niche. Wish you all the best!
