Hi,

Would like to share the recent data on ecommerce platforms and their market shares. The research was made by aheadWorks, Magento extensions provider trusted by 50,000 retailers worldwide.

4 leading platforms continue to conquest the market. They are
  • Magento
  • WooCommerce
  • PrestaShop
  • Shopify
Their joint share increased from 70.3% in May to 73.92% in October 2015.

Magento CE + WooCommerce together hold the 50.8% market share.

Magento CE + Magento EE hold the largest share - 31.04%;

    I knew WooCommerce was getting a big market share and rightly so. I've never used Magento, but have used WooCommerce for quite a few sites and love it.

      sbucciarel - can I please ask what hosting solution are you using for your wordpress site? I was going to choose Bluehost, but I've seen lots of bad reviews lately..

    Nice to see this details. Maginto is very stable & secure. However it's consumes a lot's of resources (specifically RAM & Processor). On other hand WooCommerce relatively consumes less resources & from security point of view easy to hack.
