Selling seeds on Ebay

Hi.

I have tons of seeds that I want to sell on ebay. I figure many of you would know the answers to these questions ...

Can I provide stock images from the supplier for the seeds since seeds are pretty ugly and I've already harvested my crop as well?

I was thinking of making really nice packaging, like a tin and including a guide on how to grow since they would be all alone. Does that sound silly?

I have close to 18 varieties and about 3 pounds of each. I'd like to list them asap but don't want mad buyers since I'm unsure really how the best way is. Plus half are organic .

Advice welcomed and appreciated. Thanks!

I think you'd have better results on Etsy than ebay. Especially, if they're homegrown seeds and you provide a cute tin and guide. Ebay is a free for all at this point.

Doesn't sound silly at all. I've seen seeds advertised on some gardening forums and saw Shopify has an ad for "selling seeds online".

Stock image would be fine IF the supplier permits used of the images - otherwise you might be able to find cheap images online to use.

If you could find gardening forums or sites to advertise on - I think that would be better than ebay - but just an opinion.

a guide on how to grow since they would be all alone
Good idea - you might also include zones in the ads if the seeds are for plants sensitive to heat or cold. Tins would be nice but if too expensive consider buying small top-opening envelopes and doing a stamped design, image or instructions on the envelope.

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.

" I was thinking of making really nice packaging, like a tin and including a guide on how to grow since they would be all alone. Does that sound silly? " This is not silly at all, according to me this is the best idea ever to sell seeds, so your customers will be comfortable to buy from you, I would like to suggest you to add these instruction to listings as well.

Listing these on eBay is a good option, you may create various kind of listing, like as fixed price listing, create on or two auctions, have a wholesale listing, so this way, you will be able to attract all kind of buyers from ebay for your seeds.

Thank you all for the much needed advice and reassurance. I was worried I was crazy to sale seeds but I guess it does make since. I will totally continue my search for good resources to promote to. I love the forum idea and might even consider some facebook goodies. Super excited to share my seeds with people.

I would find photos of the plant to use for my listings. A detailed growing guide is an excellent idea. Use small Ziploc bags and padded mailers to cut your shipping costs.
