Are they making any profit?

Hey Warriors,

some people talked to me about amazons FBA program and I don't know what to think about it.

I mean the fee can be 15% just to use their service. Then their will still be the cost of your product, shipping costs, the transportation from mostly China and you gotta pay taxes too lol.

Will there still be a significant profit left?

If there is anyone here who has experience with FBA, what is your average profit in percentage?

Thanks so much in advance

I have been using FBA for the past three years and I have made around a 30% profit average. The real advantage is the traffic to amazon is really good and its relatively easy to get started. I started with just retail arbitrage and have sold both books and have sourced from china.

The FBA fees are not much at all for what you get. The most important thing is that you get to have your inventory on the site with the most buyer traffic on the entire internet. You also do not have to deal with any shipments to customers or customer satisfaction issues. The shipping costs to send your items to the Amazon warehouse is the lowest you can get.

I have found the FBA business model to be great!

  • by Amazon (FBA), you store your products in Amazon's fulfillment centers, and Amazon pick, pack, ship, and provide customer service for these products. Best of all, FBA can help you scale your business and reach more customers.

What about dropshipping products on Amazon or shipping the products yourself? I heard you need some type of bar code on the products. Is this correct?

Bar codes are easily obtained if you have products that do no have them on the packaging. Just Google for them.

Having your products listed on Amazon as a merchant fulfilled seller would mean that you have to ship the products to customers yourself. This can be rather problematic and more expensive. Also you will not be part of the Amazon Prime program which is extremely popular with consumers.

As an FBA seller you will have your products available as Amazon Prime products and Amazon will take care of all the shipping to the customer, which they do in a very prompt and timely manner.
