I use WC to sell on a Russian market. Translation is good enough, so why not.

  • Here's why I think Magento is the best:

    1) More power to streamline Customer engagement
    2) New Automated Product Category sorting option
    3) Enhanced Google Tag Manager for better tracking
    4) Easy-to-develop Magento iOS App
    5) Automated Functional Testing Frameworks

And many more features that can help you build a perfect e-commerce site.

Here are some cons n pros of WooCommerce
    Pros
    Plugin is free
    Expandable through extensions
    WordPress platform
Complete ownership (You provide your own hosting and domain)
    Highly customizable
    Choice of payment gateways
    Cons
You’re responsible for your own site’s security and maintenance
Customizations can be more difficult than Shopify.

      Good lists - I agree.

For cons, though, I'd say that it's not that difficult to take the right precautions to insure your site's security. Back your site up, update your plug ins, SSL, PCI, solid hosting - you should be fine. One of the biggest attractions to Shopify is that it's easy to start with and use. I think that the tradeoff, though, is actually quite limited customizations.

The point listed in cons can be considered one of the pros depending on mindset and circumstances.

There's absolutely no reason not to build an international store with WooCommerce. There are plenty of good shipping extensions available for WooCommerce. I don't think any other cms can do any better.
