Amazon FBA Giveaway Question.

Hey guys, I just had a quick question about doing giveaways with Amazon FBA to get the initial reviews.

I'm going to be launching a second product (first product wasn't all that successful.)

Is the best way to get reviews by sending the product to the fulfillment centers first and then letting the reviewer buy the product at a discount? Or is there a cheaper way of doing this.

I'm only asking because If I'm giving away 25-50 products, and I'm getting charged for FBA fees plus the product fees, it will get pretty pricey.

Thanks in advance.

It's the price of doing business.

In general don't expect to have much profit, if any, on your first round of any product, once you take into account promotions, giveaways, etc.

In my own case I expect to make a LOSS on my first round of anything. The greater the competition the longer I will sustain that loss as I am buying market share (during the early stages) not profit (just like a REAL business does). Hence my recommendation to include cash flow as a key business metric and my post #14 on this yesterday at

It's simply the cost of doing business. Thereafter it's a case of building up margin and volume.

    Good luck with your venture.

Yes - As Zany points out it is the price of doing business, or more specifically the price for getting reviews.

One method is to set up a coupon the coupon sites, such as retailmenot and that will drive those initial sales. Be sure to watch your inventory as sometimes the discount coupons can wipe you out or close to it in a short period of time.

Thanks guys I figured as much, but thought I would ask anyway. To get the initial verified reviews is it best to use a site like Tomoson?

I noticed not many people on that site were willing to pay even $1.00 for the product (so it's a verified review). I know there is also the method of messaging the top 100 reviewers.

I just find it would be difficult to make someone pay for the product and have them review it, even if it's at a deep discount...

Or is the coupon site the best way to go, and hope that they give me reviews.

Did you read this thread? https://www.warriorforum.com/ecommer...rofit-fba.html

Don't be so quick to give away too much product for reviews. If your first product didn't fare well, what have you learned to ensure that the 2nd product will be well received? How are you choosing your products? How have you tweaked your business plan going forward? What is your ultimate goal? (Questions to ask yourself)

My first product was really just a test...I didn't spend more than $200. I have a game plan for this next product.

But that thread is interesting how it's saying the other people are ranking higher organically with lower reviews/stars.

Which I've seen before, but never really thought about. I've always thought reviews meant everything in regards to organic rankings, but apparently sales are worth a lot more.

        Beware.

I, and a few others, have been deconstructing the amazon algorithm for ranking for a few years. Nobody can tell you the exact elements and the weighting of each. Unless, that is, you are amazon as they keep it strictly secret (not surprisingly).

You will find that there are quite a number of elements that go to influencing ranking, sales and reviews are only 2 of them (even within those 2 elements there are gradients for each depending on other factors).

A few other element that affect rank?... using fba, using amazon ads, quality score... and much more.

        Good luck with your venture.

This gets me thinking. If you are ranked high in the organic search results, and somebody else wants to join the competition. They can easily outrank you if they have the budget.

What happens if you start getting a lot of competition to the product you are already ranking for?

Do you have to just out promote the competition? Or would it be easier to get the rank back because you were already established?

the best thing you can do, is to hold your product and then make a promo launch to get reviews because that would be way cheaper in terms of amazon fees and once you start getting reviews you can ship your product to amazon FBA.
a good place to get reviews would be https://www.amazingdeals.io/ it's free, unlike other websites that charge hundreds of dollars for the same service.
