Input on my Ecommerce Site

Hi everyone,

I recently posted on warrior asking which platform to use to build my own store. After all the ideas and trying different platform on their trial plan. I ended up going with Bigcommerce.

I launched my store on February 16th and had 300 visitors up until now. All the marketing I have done was posting on facebook and now I have migrated over to Google Adwords and will be launching a facebook ad as well.

As this is my first time running an online store, I would really appreciate any feedback you may have for my site. What else should I focus on? I also added a chat box and a newsletter subscription pop up hoping to drive people to sign up for my newsletter (which i have not created yet).

Would love to hear from all of you that has experience in the online industry and especially in the wedding favors industry.

How long did it take for you to make your first sale? What did you do when you first started? What would you have done differently?

Thanks!

  • 1. Capture visitors' emails. Never stop doing this. Use different methods to do it. Own your own traffic and email them your offers.

    2. Use re-target ads for visitors to your site and split these down into various campaigns. Everybody should do this but it is especially important for those who have spent on ads to attract leads in the first place.

For example a visitor who landed on your homepage and then left should be retargetted differently to one who abandoned on a shopping cart page. They should receive different retargetted ads that depend on which page they last left your site from.

    Good luck with your venture.
