WooCommerce and Paypal settings
I'm trying to sort out the settings for a WooCommerce store that will sell both physical and digital products.
In WooCommerce I've added my Paypal API details, along with the Paypal Identity Token. In Paypal I've specified the Auto Return Url.
My question is - Do I also need to turn on IPN in order for customer downloads to work, or can I leave things as they are? It seems that in order for IPN to work, Paypal now require the website to have an SSL certificate. So an added complication and cost if I need IPN.
Edit. It looks like I might not need a third party SSL cert if I turn on IPN. It's a bit complicated, but it seems that was is needed is for the server to be SHA-256 compliant, which my self-signed cert appears to be. I've tried testing my domain with this link - https://developer.paypal.com/developer/ipnSimulator/ and the result shows - "IPN was sent and the handshake was verified."
