So today I had a major breakthrough.

For my eCommerce business I sell quite a bit through a seller portal site like amazon.com.

I was pretty happy selling with this portal, I never had any issues, it has tons of traffic. If I list my items at the cheapest price, they sell very quickly.

A few days ago I decided to try a different strategy out. I decided to list the items for more money.

People buy my items anyways. In some instances, my items are 50% more then the cheapest available.

So I make more money by charging more! Less work as well! Awesome!

Edit: This thread was moved from off topic, maybe justified but I doubt it will take off. The fact that the account I am using has 10k 100% positive feedback is likely why.

I've done this before jacking the price up 100% on Craigslist.

I think a lot of IMers tend to be under the impression that everyone searches the web for the lowest price which obviously doesn't happen.

A lot of traffic get stuck on a platform like Amazon, ebay, Craigslist, etc... & they impulse buy without doing research (ex: Google search). They might shop by price on each specific platform but I know for a fact they don't always check other domains because the things I've promoted are easily found on the 1st page of Google SERPs with lower prices (that's how I found the product).

Right but the way this seller portal works, it just gives you the lowest price by default, so I didn't think that would work.

I have no idea what portal you're talking about so I guess you're right.

Still, it's not like you can only sell on one domain.
