Hello I just launched a eCommerce gadgets website a few months ago and just wanted some opinions about the look and functionality of it. Any advice would be helpful. I'm not getting much traffic yet, but I'm definitely working on SEO onpage and off page and recently created a blog.

Here is the website: cool electronic gadgets | plentyofgadgets

I just visited your site and it looks nice.

Maybe you just need to do more sharing of your site. You could use different social media to do it.

Share it through facebook or twitter and you might get number of traffics.

Not bad at all, but I would add a little more color to make it pop and I would go to Fiverr and have them do a header or banner for you. It looks a little home made.

I think it is cool. And I like the way you arrange your products on this template.
With this website, I think you should optimize SEO offpage more to boost your keyword rank. Ah and also spend time on researching keywords first.

it looks pretty good to me - you could probably do a better header but I would think your priority would be to get more people to your website. I don't know what you are doing but perhaps you can make a few videos of product groups and link them from youtube. Or maybe you can use a poll app on social media and ask people which product they prefer with a link back - anything you can think of to get extra people to your site because I think the site certainly looks nice enough to work if you get enough eyes on it.

Congrats on getting started in ecommerce. Most don't get that far.

    1. The homepage is much too busy and unsettling to the eye (think apple.com).

    2. The design lacks theme and coherence, too many different shapes, colours making it look fragmented.

    3. Figure out what are your 2 or 3 lead offers and feature these front and centre on your homepage.

    4. Use landing pages to warm up your traffic to put them in a buying mood.

    5. Use direct advertising to create traffic to send to your landing pages.

    6. Forget SEO and social media for traffic gaining, at least in the first 6-9 months or so.

    Good luck with your venture.

If you want some feedback and observations from users you may want to consider paying a few dozen people to go through and screenshot their usage of the site.

You could do this very economically using Mturk. https://www.mturk.com/mturk/welcome

You would get far more data than asking a few people on the forum.

Ask people to record a screencast of their visit and give a vocal commentary of what they are doing and thinking.

This can guide you to make changes accordingly.

    Kind regards,

    Ozi

You have to work more on On-page optimization rather than link building activity. Work on the content of each product, make it look more unique and descriptive.

  • Your site looks perfect in my point of view. You need to promote it through social media including Facebook, Twitter, Linked In and Google Plus as well as article writing, blog postings, SEO and website linking to get more traffic.

Your site looks amazing. It's just that it's not that responsive on smartphones. Also add some more description on your products.
