Partnership with big manufacturers

Hello,

I recently opened a new webshop with a budget of roughly 1,000 euro. So far I've spend most of this money on my website and building up a stock. This being said, my business is quite small and will probably stay small for the foreseeable future.

One of my goals is to become retailer of an original brand but I'm not sure how I should approach this. As of now my resources are simply too minimal but at what point should I give this a try? What do these manufacturers expect of me? etc.

Does anyone has experience with this?

Well, i think that you made a mistake, you shouldn't spend you money on inventory. Using drop shipping is a better way when you open a new store. With your small budget it is a big gamble to invest in products. You should have invest your money in a site and the rest to advertise your site the way possible. Than you should examine the market and see things that should sell on the market your are doing your business on, and than find good drop shippers and put their products on your page. That way you will have a large inventory and your site will be more popular because there will be more products and the site will be well recognized because of your investment in marketing. If you plan a partnership with a big and popular manufacturer that would be a problem if you don't have enough money. If you want to sign a contract with some big manufacturer you will have to order a larger quantity of goods, because not everyone can do business with them.

I finished my website and still got enough budget to do marketing
Drop shipping sounds good but I'm not sure on how to get good suppliers who are able to ship within 1-2 days because that's what people want these days

Well there are a lot of sellers that can ship your products in the wanted time, but the worse part is the time the shipment needs to arrive to the destination. If it is a priority package, it will arrive much faster than as a ordinary package. Your customers will get their products ten days or more earlier. So my advice would be find the products, you would like to sell and choose the best sellers you can find, sometimes it is better to pay a dollar more if that makes the whole process better. So contact the sellers see the conditions, talk to your buyers see the conditions they would like to get, if they want to get their products in under ten days than you should find an alternative and get products shipped with dhl, ems or something other, it is more expensive but if your customers need the products faster than they would have to pay.
