Struggling with Sales - story so far

Hello,

I'm at the point where I am struggling with sales and would be grateful if anyone could give any advice. Thanks.

* I have a store with Amazon using FBA
* Source products from china to Amazon
* Advertise using Facebook Ads
* Currently have 2 products in our store in the Cocktails/Drinks niche
* We have a website (buy button links directly to Amazon listing)

The Facebook ad has 20k impressions, 250 clicks but no sales.

The ad is currently linked to the Amazon Listing. I think my next move is to link the Ad to the product page with a pop-up to get email address for a free ebook.

In hindsight I think my chosen product is saturated on Amazon. But I'm struggling with the fact that I dont have a single sale.

Any advice is very much appreciated.

    Your process is much different then the way I have progressed with my FBA business but I do have a couple of suggestions.


    Search this forum for post by ImportExport. Walter has made many helpful posts about importing products from China and other countries. You may find that helpful.


    Also I use camelcamelcamel.com to determine the sales history and sales frequency of specific products on Amazon.

      The camel link looks very interesting.
      I'm currently plowing this site for information, seems to be a good resource.

      I think my main problem is not having a sales funnel, my ad is going straight to Amazon listing. So I'm going to get this sorted next, probably switching my website to shopify so I can sell without having the user go to Amazon.

      One thing I don't like about Amazon is the other links and sponsored ads around the page showing other people's products .

        How does your pricing compare with competitors? You don't have to be the cheapest to make sales, you have to stand out from the crowd.

        If your product looks good enough to justify a higher price, try selling for more than competitors. People often have a tendency to equate price with quality.

        If you want to improve margins, you should consider whether or not you are buying from the actual manufacturer, or is it a trader in disguise? That is a major problem on the big B2B sites.

        You might even consider private labeling.

        Many people are enjoying high profit margins by private labeling, and it gets them noticed on Amazon.

            IMO you need to change your whole plan.

            Change it from a Cocktail Shaker Bar Set to a Cocktail Shaker Gift Set and target adult women that want to buy for their spouse, friend or whatever... Don't target men, target women with credit cards looking for $24.95 gifts.

            Jack the price up and include a fancy looking cardboard box with paper straw. Take professional photos.

            Trust me on this...

            Look at your customer names (mostly women with credit cards):
            • Sarah
            • Cyndi
            • Veronika
            • nurse_shannan
            • Polly M
            • Danica
            • AMBER GIST
            • Cyndi
            • Savannah
            • Betty K.
            • etc...




            Look what your customers are saying...
            • Got this as a gift for a friend that was so jealous of my rather 'large' set up....hahaha!
            • This is truly an awesome set. It's so nice that it can truly be gifted no questions asked.
            • I think it would be a great gift idea for someone's 21st birthday, house warming, secret santa, etc.
            • This the perfect gift to anyone who likes cocktails and this is perfect for the holidays and get togethers.
            • etc...

            Good grief, man. Your customers are literally telling you what to do (GIFT SET).

        I think you may be missing a key fact here. You mention that you may want to"sell without having the user go to Amazon."


        The fact is that the vast majority of people looking to buy something go to Amazon directly. Amazon is where the buyers are! Moving away from Amazon is essentially moving away from huge amounts of buyer traffic. Sounds like that is the opposite of what you should do IMO.

    Cold freezes sales. Warm up your visitors, instead.

    Your sales process may very well be too short (thus cold). Put them through a funnel, especially if your products are in a highly competitive market. It's the only chance you have of differentiating yourself from the competition and to fully explain all the benefits of your products.

    I know this is a different area to what your doing but I can say that Dropshipping products on ebay can be very profitable. This way you don't have to invest upfront in stock, you just purchase the item when you get a sale and have it sent to your customer.

    Ive been using the same supplier since I started

    - Amazon

    Another good point is that with this business, I don't have any niche because I sell anything and everything.
