Hello. Not so long ago I became interested in the Amazon and decided to try mymself in the white lable. It seemed simple enough: items chosen, vendor found, all successfully delivered and paid, created a product page, first reviews and sales... There were 8 orders, nothing more. Realizing that I'm new in marketing, I would like to ask you for tips to increase sales of goods, how to promote it. Already have item page with boolets, images, description. All items on FBA. In Kitchen current rank 200k+.

Topic: cooking tools.

Thank you in advance.

I have always wanted to sell on Amazon because you don't have to entirely depend on Google for SEO and now I think I just might try. Thanks for the great pointers

        Hi,

Have you tried amazon research tool like amzinsight.com to check which marketplace is suitable to sell more on amazon? Try it for free and see if you are in the right marketplace or the product has low demand.

        Thanks

        Faisal

I do not see why someone would say this is so informative when it is entitled "7 Ways to increase sales from Amazon". But these are not ways to increase says but they are aspects of the FBA program.

I think the person starting the thread is asking how to improve sales after his initial 8 sales. My suggestion would be to try using Amazon's advertising program. Go under Ad manager in Seller Central and start a keyword campaign. This will cut your margin at first but with more sales you can get more reviews which leads to more organic search results on Amazon. Also using something like FeedbackGenius can help with product reviews. Amazon likes well reviewed products and it will boost you in their search results.

Well I presume you've done your homework. Your product rank is pretty descent and I think you can increase your sales if you can incorporate good marketing in your business. Set up an account on pinterest and post best image from your inventory with different thought provoking quotes. Your image must portray a cool vibe so that your clients feel inclined to eventually click on it. Apart from that use visual and video advertisement on facebook or twitter to spread the word.

    Cheers-James

A Top Amazon Reviewer who agreed to review my new product told me a few things that were helpful and eye opening :

    1. When requesting reviews, always use the coupon codes in Amazon to send the reviewer the free / discounted trial because it will show them as a Verified Buyer and will rank your listing higher in Amazon.

    2. If a lead or buyer that lands on your page doesn't buy on the first visit (convert) then this hurts your ranking.

    3. First view purchases on Amazon are gold. The more you have the more likely Amazon will suggest your listing in the results. (Launch importance)

    4. Your item in someone's Amazon Wish List is free advertising -- Because if anyone ever orders from that person's wish list, all the other items in the list will forever be marketed to that person who bought from that wish list. SO... you should get your friend and family to add your product to their Wish Lists.

i believe the most important that makes all the difference on amazon is the reviews. Therefore you should look for ways to increase your reviews and maybe use that feedback to modify or improve your product if that is possible.

Two things: (1) reviews, (2) sales.

Seems obvious, but its a bit of a catch 22 - becoming a higher ranking seller leads to more sales, but you need more sales to become higher ranking.

A technique I have used is funnelling customers onto Amazon. So, from my Instagram page, I would funnel people to my Amazon to purchase my item, even though I was making much more per sale on my own site. But this is a long run game - this led me to rank higher and therefore access Amazon sales I wouldn't have previously accessed.

To boost sales you should aggressively run Amazon PPC, if you haven't already. Start by running an auto campaign (let it run for a few days/weeks) and pick out the most relevant keywords Amazon has generated for you. Then plug those keywords into a new manual campaign with a higher CPC bid to improve (and control) where your ad appears on Amazon's SERP.

To control your PPC spend you'll need to pay close attention to your CPC spend and determine your target ACoS. Sellics has a good PPC manager tool for this, they breakdown the performance of your individual products & track your sales data in real time.

    Think different.

I feel your pain and sympathise. I was in a similar position a few years back on amazon. Struggling along with some sales on a couple of decent products, but nothing to write home about.

The huge change came when I changed from having an amazon business with a couple of decent products to a branded company.

However, when I started to focus on building a brand to fit a particular demographic of customers, my mind switched from 'how do I get more sales?' to 'what more do these customers need that would add value?'

This switch was the catalyst. Increase in sales did not happen overnight but steadily they grew as I introduced new products that fitted the demographic. Interestingly, when sales of new products grew, sales of my 'old' products grew too. It had a very positive effect.

Today I am well into 6 figures a month in business, and have been for quite some time, still growing strong, and with a branded business not only an amazon business.

    Good luck with your ventures.

I see some of the responses to your question do not appear to address your question. Others have made the very good suggestion to make use of the Amazon sponsored adds, PPC.

I have had better luck with the manual set up rather than the automatic set up - meaning you pick your own keywords. Keep a close watch on the keywords and keep you bids appropriate for your purposes. Do not be too general but use keywords that will be "buyer" keyword, in other words be specific to your product.

      Hi DWaters,

That's right manual set up gives you much control over your campaign. But for the newbies an automatic campaign set up is easier where you let Amazon decide the best keywords for you and then you can use the most converting keywords in your manual campaign to target. What's your input on this?

      Thanks, Fred.

it depends on your skill level (partly).

Actually the most valuable thing an Automatic campaign can do for you, in the beginning, is VALIDATE your listing with amazon. I can't tell you the number of businesses, whose amazon ppc i've managed, that find out what amazon robots really think their listing is about (this can be hugely surprising). I've even discovered incorrect nodes through running Automatic campaigns (making keyword cost per click much more expensive and difficult to rank for).

With a minimal amount of skill and information there's no need to run an Automatic campaign to start things off. Simply use the many tools that are around to get the right keywords for your product/s and plug them straight into a Manual campaign (using all three keyword types - broad, phrase, match - with differing bid prices). This will nearly always find you what 'works' and what does not, fairly quickly, without waiting on an elongated Automatic campaign.

Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with running an Automatic campaign, I do with every single amazon ppc account I manage. But i simply keep it running in the background, consistently, at a low bid occassionally discovering new keywords (and competitors' listings) agains which i am making sales.

By all means use Automatic but there's no need to do so for 3 weeks just to discover what keywords work, or, more importantly, which search terms are golden.

        Good luck with your ventures.
