Hey guys,

Hope you are all having a great day!

Just wanted to get some ideas/feedback.

I started my Shopify store 2 weeks ago and have made 8 sales and decent profit (imo) so far.

My question is this - when you guys are adding to your stores how long do you run PPC campaigns to test viability and how much do you spend?

My idea is to run a facebook engagement AD spending £1-£2 a day for 3-4 days to see how it goes and then pull it if I get no interest.

Do you think I am on the right track or should I be investing more? (my producs range from £12-£20 and I make £10 profit on each sale).

Thanks in advance :-)

Michael

    Hey,

nice to hear that you already made sales!

1-2 pounds per day is too low to get relevant data. You have to invest something you can build on. I usually splittest two different ads with 10$ each and per day and run it for 3-4 days. Normally I splittest my ad images. After these days I know which image works better and continue improving my CTA or target group. Of course you could also reverse that order if you want.

Nonetheless I'd recommend to spend more than your named amount to get some statistics.

    Hi Michael

It's great to hear that you are making sales. In terms of determining how much to spend on the ads , I think the important thing is to understand your Cost Per Sale meaning is how much do you spend to get a sale. As you say your profit is 10 pound , if I were you I would test at 10 pounds a day as a start . If it cost you more than 10 pounds to get one sale then you know it doesn't worth it but if let's say it cost you 5 pounds or less then that means you would be making 5 pounds or more as a profit and that depends on you if 5 pounds is a good enough profit margin. It's all about your Cost Per Sale Michael

Hope this helps and make sense.

    Hey guys,

Little update - so I increased my ad spend to £10 for the item I am currently testing but the cost per sale has gone through the roof.

I find it a bit strange to be honest, the cost per click has dropped and the click through rate is sitting at 3.9% which I think is fairly healthy but the conversions have stayed the same.

Any ideas on what to change or do you think that it is a case of the product not working?

    Thanks again

    Michael
