I have a question about Ebay -

About seven or eight years ago, a friend of mine partnered with me and we started doing a dropshipping service thing on ebay. Basically we would list cheap chinese products from other websites onto ebay and then wait until someone bought it. When they bought it from us, we would order it from the website and input their shipping information so they would be sent the product.

I know that the fee structures for ebay have changed quite a lot and that it now costs a little bit more money to list things. I've also heard that ebay lets you list for free at the beginning and probably bumps you pretty high in the rankings so that you get sales right away, then, once you start paying for your listings you notice that the sales don't come as frequently anymore but now you're hooked and you keep trying to sell with poorer results. It just seems unfair if they would manipulate the rankings like that.

Anyways, my question is basically, should I try to start this again? Are the fees too expensive to be worthwhile?

You may know nothing about eBay but you seem to know how to spam your signature.

Thanks for your reply - I've thought of actually sourcing products and shipping them myself but I'm not a big fan of the upfront costs - I want to be in the money making business rather than the shipping business in particular, although I'm sure there are profits to be made. I'm not that interested in keeping a lot of inventory or solving any problems like that.

That being said, I do really enjoy dropshipping because it's all data entry and your sales are immediately profitable. All of the problems that you have to solve are either on the computer or on the phone - they aren't to do with managing the actual products.

I personally drop ship on ebay and I sell over 100k a month on ebay drop shipping similar to what you are saying.

I use retailers so it is more Retail Abitrage..

    Thats one of my accounts

That beng said, I know a couple people in my group who drop ship from aliexpress to ebay

The good thing about ebay is that they provide the traffic....

    although margins are less
