I've opened up an eCommerce store that is within the same industry I have another blog that is specific to a region. Although they don't have anything to do with one another independently, they are still within the same industry. Would it be worth using that content or will I not relate to my audience.

Let me give you an example:

Let's say I have a Blog about Dogs in New York - NYDogs* - Specific to NY (however a lot of good articles related to dogs that don't necessarily only focus on the city of New York. We have many writers in NY who contribute and write the articles though. But overall the information is valuable to any dog owner really, not just NY dog owners. - Some* not all articles.

Now say I have another eCommerce website - Selling Leashes (separate eCommerce site) nothing to do with blog and anyone in the USA can buy so not targeted towards NY.

I Want to use the articles I have written on the NY blog on my eCommerce site without redirecting them to the blog and having them shop. My only concern is when they see a new window open to to NYDogs they think oh this product while may be good for me was originally intended for dog owners in NY.

Would this method potentially harm my visitors?
