Automated fulfilment in e-com

Hi, I'm doing dropshipping from Aliexpress, but I want to scale it up and increase my margins. I was thinking to buy a small stock from the same product from Alibaba and keep doing the same. ( I'm using Clickfunnels + ads + retargeting)
What's the best way to automate the stock storage, shipping, handling and customer support in my store?
I know there are big fullfillment companies like Shipwire, Chinadecision and so on, but is it really fit for a small e-commerce funnel?
Someone already did it before? I would love to hear about your experience.

It's certainly a good move to buy inventory to improve margins. It will also improve customer satisfaction rates because you will be able to deliver quickly, and you won't be left high and dry if a supplier runs out of stock and you don't know.

The margins that you can get will depend on where you buy. If you just go to Alibaba, look for the same products, and get quotes from suppliers claiming to be manufacturers, you will most likley end up dealing with a trader and you will only get very ordinary margins.

You need to buy direct from genuine manufacturers, and it is hard to work out which of the thousands on Alibaba claiming to be manufacturers really are, or are they traders.

Here is a WF post from one of my book users to illustrate: "He writes about how and why to contact the manufacturers directly, no dropshipping. I have contacted some manufacturers already (from links he supplies) and I am just shocked at the low prices they offer for products I am researching. Forget Alibaba, Global Resource, whatever. The Ebook shows you where to find manufacturers, how to verify their credibility etc "

I suggest you have a look at my AMA thread: Ask Me Anything About Product Sourcing And Importing For Profit. ― Veteran Importer Here. There you can have your questions answered by one who has been there - done that, very successfully since 1987.

Walter Hay's course is a good place to start for sourcing products. As far as automation goes, you'll never be able to truly "automate" some of those things (like customer service). I would suggest training and hiring a VA to do all of that for you. Automating the ordering processing part of eCommerce is never a good idea. Without a trained eye examining orders before they are shipped, you are setting yourself up for fraud and chargebacks.
